Philips Lumea Week 1

I have terrible hirsutism all over, it’s getting worse (I am 34) and it’s not PCOS. I have a very hair dad - thanks dad! Maybe it’s that. My mum doesn’t have this problem.

I’ve just started with the Lumea, legs and underarms first to see what it’s like. I have had bad experiences with IPL before where is actually made the hair thicker and longer.

3 days after the first treatment and all the hairs are continuing to grow as if nothing happened. I used setting 4. I’m going to keep posting with my progress but it’s not the most encouraging start!

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Especially with the stimulated growth?

I have been using mine for 6months now. The results are great. Not all hair is gone, and if you are hoping for that you are probably going to be disappointed. However it massively reduces their amount, slows down growing of those that do remain and overall i am 300% more confident. I have pale skin and thin dark hair so perhaps i am a good candidate.
At the moment virtually no hair on forearms, barely any on bikini (i do the full area Hollywood style), very few underarms, legs are more resistant buy nevertheless much less hair and they grow very slowly now.
I use mine every 3-4 weeks because i got into the routine.

I’m now around 3 or 4 treatments down, and I can’t believe the difference already.

Underarm hair is reduced by more than half. And my thighs and legs in general probably reduced by more than half too. Just big hairless patches already, I’m so happy and can’t wait for future results.

For anyone with appropriate colouring I would say - go for it, I needed this years ago.

I've been using it on facial hair for months now and no change yet.

It’s a little tedious to do and I have to wait to have the place to myself as I am embarrassed, but the results are actually life changing and I am braving the bikini area now.

Would love to hear of anyone’s results further down the line, like a year on etc?

@Indecisivelurcher do you have dark course hair here? Has it not made the hair any worse?

Dark chin hairs and moustache. No definitely not worse. Am still having to shave the fuckers every morning which is what I want to stop.

@Indecisivelurcher what setting are you using?

Setting 5. The max. I'm trying to keep the faith!
