Outdoor family photoshoot - outfit help

Hi all,

We are having a photoshoot with our 6 month old mid-October, in a local London park. We’re hoping there will be some lovely autumnal colours. I was thinking that my son could wear these dungarees with a navy top and cardigan, though would be open to other suggestions here too. I have no idea what I should wear at all. Dress or jeans…neither of which I have that fit me post-partum. And what colour…I was thinking maybe burgundy if a dress, and husband could wear camel chinos and a navy shirt maybe. Any suggestions/links very welcome. I’m probably a size 12 now, 5’7. Thank you!

I'ld suggest wearing as neutral colours and styles as possible. So go white/cream top half and wear a classic style that won't look dated in 20 years time. Think white shirt & really plain but stylish trousers. No patterns, statement jewellery nor clashing colours between the 3 of you.

That’s a very good idea, thank you!

We had one a few years back. DD wore a burgundy dress with cream tights, cardi and Doc Martens. I wore a purple floral shirt with a neutral cardi, jeans and neutral slouch boots. DH wore jeans and a mustard coloured t-shirt. I was so happy with how they came out!

In fact, I redecorated our living room to show it off! Expensive photo shoot!

😂 very! The outfits sound lovely and like they complemented each other well.

@pinacollama has the photographer not given you a style guide?

Go with a neutral colour pattern between you all. Ask the photographer for guidance. It's what you're paying them for.

We did a similar shoot for Xmas and we went for a pop of mustard yellow in all our outfits and some burgundy and the main colour was navy.

If you look on Pinterest there are ideas for Autumn photo shoot
Good idea to limit the number of colours.

Don’t wear white or black, they are hard to photograph - white looks very bright and black looks hard & blocky. Go for what you love but neutrals are a safe bet. If you are a bright colour person the go for it, but make sure someone else in the group is bright too or you’ll stand out too much in the photos.

A strong autumnal mix of colours would be lovely. Plum/Burnt Orange/Forest Green - something to contrast against whatever the tree colours are.
