What was your favourite and why?

  • I've been varying shades of blonde, brown, red/auburn, black

I'm debating another change - presently have a blondie/brown balayage and I'm dancing gorgeous rich brown for winter

Not sure i have ever had a favourite, I am currently white blonde but have been black, blue, brown, chestnut, red, pink, purple, mixture of all the above.

If you have blonde in your colour now be very careful going to brown, you will need to tint it (I think my hairdresser said orange to me) or you risk it going green

I’ve been blonde, brown, red, pink, peach, lilac and accidentally turquoise thanks to the green tones in the lilac!

Am currently ‘copper gold’ but keep thinking about going bleach blonde and playing with the colour more again.

At 42 I worry I’m a bit old for it though 😕

41 and bleach blonde here...go for it! Never too old

Ah thanks, yeah I do agree with you! I dress like a teenager pretty much anyway so not sure what the issue is haha!

I do prefer how it feels when bleached, it never gets greasy and I don’t need to do much to style it.

I’ve had all the colours you can imagine. I loved the plum/purples before they got totally overdone a few years back.

Tried dark brown but it looked a bit flat and meh. Not as striking as black or as interesting as red etc

My favourite was probably red (it was a nice bright red, but not pillarbox, it was rich with a metallic looking shine). Sadly doesn’t last well in my hair, so only stays gorgeous for a few weeks. However with some top ups and colour shampoo it’s by far my favourite.

Black has been my most long lasting as it doesn’t fade or need much care to look good, always shiny and healthy looking. Only stopped that as I have so much grey that the roots showed within a week and looked awful.

Currently balayage which I do love, but it feels a bit less ‘striking’ than some of my others. People say I look younger with it lighter.

I quite fancy going for a pink toner or something to liven it up!

My favourite hair colour is what I am sporting now, grey almost white.
I stopped colouring my hair a couple of years ago and I think my natural colour suit my complexion much better .

MedusasBadHairDay · 22/09/2021 10:50

Bright blue. It was so much fun. But it was a lot of effort to keep up with the roots (I always home dye) and then to remove the blue once I wanted a change.

Bronde is my favourite, kind my natural hazelnut colouring with highlights. Sort of Jennifer Lopez early 00s colour. But can be hard to achieve and maintain.

I've been red red, copper, pink, peach, black, dark brown , all different kinds of brown with highlights, nearly all blonde...never been full bleach blonde though.

I love having different tones of brown, caramel/hazelnut colours with a few highlights or balayage, it looks the most natural and it is low maintenance as I don't need to retouch the roots.

I loved the coppery colour I had , but it faded so quickly and didn't look good with light brown roots coming through!

Least fave was when I accidently dyed it black...it looked terrible on me, as did when I went too blonde. Both just washed me out and looked flat.

SirenSays · 22/09/2021 11:54

I've been every colour there is pretty much, from platinum to black, especially as a teenager. My favourites are fire engine red, copper and teal. My current hair is very long, caramel brown balayage, think Sofia Vergara-esque. Because it's so long and thick dyeing it just takes too long, not to mention the damage it does. So now I wear wigs! I love being able to change up my style and colour whenever I want.

Mombie2021 · 22/09/2021 12:12

Currently white blonde with a black root smudge (am naturally black!). Have been every colour barring blue.

My favourites:

  • an almost bronze colour
  • a rich copper
  • pastel pink
Deathraystare · 23/09/2021 10:15

Currently a golden brown which is near enough to my actual colour (though that is more like grey now!!!).

My favourite of all was a really bright red - more Scarlet than auburn but sadly too much upkeep - shows grey too quickly :(

BlijEi · 23/09/2021 15:42

I've had every color under the rainbow and pink was and will always be my favorite. I had every shade of pink for a 10-15 years. Then I went red/copper to be more grown up in my 30s and I long after pink every day. The only thing stopping me from going back is that I really don't want the hassle and damage of bleaching my hair.
