Don't know if link works:

if this doesn't work go to sale and then bottoms

they have a non-stretchy version as well for £12, they are probably nicer on than they look on the website IMO

Ah it works

they have all sizes and even different lengths in my local one

I don't think they actually seem to sell anything in there, so the sales are v good IME

Oh i like those. I wouldn't know what to wear with them though - what sort of material would you have for the top?

FrannyandZooey · 05/12/2007 18:10

I am just wearing a long sleeved kind of t-shirt thing and a cardy

or a jumper would be fine I think?

coldtits · 05/12/2007 22:49

I'll have a look in my local one but it's a but, well ... local.

coldtits · 05/12/2007 22:50

Met up with a friend last week who was AGOG at a tractor in the middle of the main road, holding up the traffic. That's how local we are.

FrannyandZooey · 06/12/2007 07:54

LOL

I am sure they will have them, the shop is full of nothing else atm - what do they actually sell when they have bugger all stock? I went in there looking to see if I could find a nice skirt - they didn't have any skirts

Because of this thread I went into a dotty p's and got black cords, and also a pair of jeans, like this. I am wavering about whether they're 'mom jeans', but the pockets are pretty funky, and I think they look good and they fit. Unlike all my other trousers.

FrannyandZooey · 09/12/2007 15:45

no they look more like boyfriend jeans than mom jeans to me

the cords are fab but they don't half drag in the rain

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 09/12/2007 15:46

in fact for £20 I might get a pair of those if I can find some that fit

my current ones are just a tiny bit tight but I bought the next size up and they are HUGE on the legs

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 09/12/2007 15:46

I like them ok, they are warm, and they fit .

I was so pleased to wear trousers that fit, I wore the cords home, and made the shop assistant take the security tag off my ass while I was wearing them .

I am now absolutely and actually a 14.

I do not seem to be stopping losing weight though. It's all rather .

(Oh, but I didn't have night sweats last night, at least!)

FrannyandZooey · 09/12/2007 15:47

did you make the doctor's appointment?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 09/12/2007 15:49

Um, no.

But I will, anyway - I have decided to get some sleeping pills, and if my night sweats don't go, I will ask about the night sweats, but if they're gone, I'll ask about sleeping pills.

I don't think the weight loss is actually problematic, as I do know what's causing it.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/12/2007 20:58

Oh, the local dotty P's had a 20% off everything sale - so the cords and the jeans were £25 or so. Not bad.

FrannyandZooey · 09/12/2007 21:41

oh well i hope you do go to the doctors

what made you decide about the sleeping pills?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 09/12/2007 22:06

Sleep has been pretty bad lately a few times, and I think it's worth trying.

Oh, and I spoke to someone I know locally who has them, some new make that's apparently quite good, and she uses it twice a week at most. They help her get to sleep, but don't give her excessively heavy sleep, apparently.

FrannyandZooey · 09/12/2007 22:09

Ok, it sounds like if you could just use them occasionally to get a good night that it would be a sensible thing to do

are they not habit forming then, these new ones?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 09/12/2007 22:17

Apparently not.

I am resolutely Not Ok with the idea of using anything on a daily basis - I've never even had a coffee-every-day habit, so I'm quite sure I won't get sucked in by this.

Actually, I suspect just having the pills might make things easier, as then I'd have an escape hatch. Just knowing it was there could make all the difference.

I am getting better at the sleeping, but I do still get caught out, and then it all goes to hell.

NotQuiteCockney · 09/12/2007 22:22

Ah, just worked out what drug it is, and it's one that keeps advertising in the New Yorker.

Obviously I won't go in with the name of the drug, as that never helps, but if they're spending that much money advertising, I'm sure they've managed to convince my GPs.

FrannyandZooey · 10/12/2007 08:24

god it is mad when they advertise drugs, isn't it? it seems so odd, like when you see cigarette adverts with people actually smoking cigarettes in

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 10/12/2007 08:34

And I had night sweats last night.

Ok, making GP appt today, maybe make a double and then I can get into a couple of things.

ImBarryScott · 10/12/2007 08:34

sorry to butt in - re the cords: are they low slung? I love them but am long of body, and wary of the builder's bum effect.

NotQuiteCockney · 10/12/2007 08:35

The American drug adverts are weird, at least the ones in the NY - there's often a fair bit of advertorial, nothing really about the drug, and then a big boring page about side effects that really catches the eye.

NotQuiteCockney · 10/12/2007 08:36

Yes, it's the Z ones. There's no way I'm using anything nightly. Thanks for the tips.

The cords aren't low-slung, I don't find. Not wildly high-waisted, either, though.

FrannyandZooey · 10/12/2007 08:43

No they aren't low slung - there are two styles, as well - the stretchy ones, and another more stiff fabric

which sort did you get NQC?

and LOL at 'butting in' to bring the conversation back to cords

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 10/12/2007 09:02

Oh, dunno if mine are stiff or not - they're probably stretchy. How can I tell? They didn't have many cords in stock, I was lucky to find a pair in my size.
