back to the office backpacks?

going back to our London office (feeling like the first day of school) and need a new backpack. I have a bad back and need to carry my laptop so it has to be a backpack really. I am in my early 40s so need something stylish but practical. What is everyone else using these days?

I love my Roka . Can get everything in there. Fab colour range but not waterproof unless they have new ones which are.
DH has Millican which is waterproof and has unisex style. A little more ',hiking ' style perhaps but still stylish.

I have a Braasi bag. So comfortable on! And looks great 😊
They have many different styles

Following. I’m looking at a Knomo as I’ve never had one before - are they worth it?

I looked at all sorts when I returned to work from mat leave but most weren't practical enough for me. I have a Mia Tui Sydney. It's not stylish but neither am I so we go well together. (Sorry I don't really belong on this board but seek inspiration in hope!).
It is however spectacularly practical with loads of pouches, pockets and bottle holder pockets. I can fit in my laptop, lunch and change of shoes.

@pixeleena and @Htw132, as a result of this thread, I'm going to order the Dahlia. I hadn't realised I was even looking for a backpack and now see that it is precisely what I need!

Knomo bags are fab. They support a charity local to me as well, providing bags for vulnerable women who are returning to the workplace.

I have a lovely fiorelli leather tan backpack which fits my laptop but it’s not actually very comfortable and pulls on my shoulders when full so based on that experience I’d be tempted to go for a proper functional backpack (the rains ones do look good) rather than a fashion-y one if you have a bad back.

Love my nordace sienna. Fits so much stuff plus laptop and so comfy to wear even when full.

Randomdogbite · 23/09/2021 21:45

I have a ROKA one and it’s lovely, I’ve had lots of compliments and it’s so useful.

I love my Fossil leather backpack and it fits my huge bloody too and enough necessary white in it.

Quite like the look of RAINS backpacks!

I have this one in black from Sandqvist, which I had spotted other people using. www.sandqvist.co.ukp/alva-olive

I like that it’s quite minimalist, very small logo, it’s pretty comfy too.

I use a bog standard cheap black one, brand not important but I was just going to say - having lugged stuff around the commute in a backpack I learnt that the lovely fashion ones (I have a gorgeous and expensive one) were useless. Sweaty back, no external pockets (for things like wallet & train ticket and stuff you want quick access to) and really heavy before you put a laptop, tablet, phone, kindle, notepad, water, and everything else you schlep around on the journey to work !

I looked very carefully at the comfort of the straps, the "sweaty" nature of the back, and the external pockets, and also the weight of the bag before you put anything in it.
