Winter equivalent to sandals?

I live in my Birkenstock's and flip flops pretty much between March & now.

But I can tell my days are numbered, the mornings are dewy and damp.

Is there such a thing as a winter shoe/book which is as easy (lazy) to quickly slip on and be comfy whilst warm and dry? I think I know the answer but worth a try Grin

@TerribleCustomerCervix

I have Birkenstock Boston’s, which give me the comfort of my summery Gizehs and Arizona.

Fair warning though- they are absolutely fucking hideous.

blundstone boots? V comfy and easy enough to slip on and off. I am planning to live in mine this winter!

Pliudev · 16/09/2021 17:50

I have some Fitflop ankle boots that I've worn almost every day for the last two winters and I reckon I'll get another year out of them. I bought some DM brogues and had to give them away because they were so inflexible so I bought some Clarks lace ups from their outlet shop and they are great with chunky tights.

@Robertthebrucesthistle

I’ve got vivo barefoot Chelsea boots arriving soon www.vivobarefoot.com/uk/fulham-womens-a21 hopefully super comfortable.
Exceptionally comfy, they've converted me to barefoot shoes.

I live in Birkenstocks also - in the winter I live in Fly boots - so comfy. www.johnlewis.com/fly-london-reno-suede-platform-ankle-boots-grey/p5690445

Ugg’s. Other real sheep skin boots are available.

nannygoat50 · 27/09/2021 18:30

Fitflop boots are like wearing slippers . Particularly the fur lined ones

Oofos recovery footwear

They do a boot. It's not the prettiest but comfort level is off the scale

I wear these all terrain/all weather shoes, all through winter. They give everyday comfort and are great for hikes, dog walks, bottom of the garden trips, round to the shop, etc. I can eventually pop them on without undoing the zip. I have several pairs and have bought these for years. Never pay full price, they always get reduced down to £25 several times a year. They're not quite all weather, your feet will get damp if you go puddle jumping.

Thanks for recommending Lands end - I had no idea about their footwear. Some comfy looking boots on there, too.
Lessofallthisunpleasantness · 27/09/2021 23:08

Uggs, so comfy and cosy... not waterproof and no support though.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 28/09/2021 03:16

Clarks have done a suede biker boot in past years. I have bought it twice, once in grey and once in tan (the second time on Vinted for £10). They are so easy to slip on, wide enough to cope with less than skinny jeans, and look good. They are quite wide and roomy so you either wear thick socks or an insole and its perfect, otherwise it can feel a bit slippy around inside. If you google and search images you can see them. Any shoe that has a zip, chelsea, pull on style boot.

OldWivesTale · 28/09/2021 04:31

Fly Chelsea boots. Slip on and off and very comfy.

So comfortable, so easy as you pull them on. Now I don't have to go to an office much I basically live in them from September onwards. They're also great for chilly summer evenings camping, as they're warm but not sweaty.

clarehhh · 28/09/2021 08:58

Hotter boots with zip both sides

CantGetDecentNickname · 28/09/2021 09:06

Fitflop do clogs and clog slippers. These are very comfy and lightweight plus usually have built in arch support.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 28/09/2021 16:07

I have the answer! It's these: https://www.matalan.co.uk/product/detail/s2836975c101/black-pvc-chelsea-welly-boots-black?gclid=Cj0KCQjw18WKBhCUARIsAFiW7Jz49JaEmtH8GDUoGRin41zs155H5umrjlRdZT0tJyCvG38kNzZ3-t4aAhIPEALwwcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Picked up a pair today and they're great - comfy, dead easy to slip on and off, waterproof and look pretty good on, especially considering the price (£12.50!)

You may need to size down - I'm normally a 5.5-6, but bought the 5, they seem to fit perfectly.

thewinehasgonetomyhead · 28/09/2021 22:11

Thanks all! Loving the socks and Birkenstock idea! I have just bought some new thermal socks so that may do for the days it's not raining.

I wear Birkenstocks in summer and blundstone chelsea boots in winter. The half sizes are wider.
