A white snow jacket? Out of fashion or has enough time passed?

They were ubiquitous in about 2012-13 I know, but that was nearly a decade ago now.

I want a warm coat but not a dark drab grey or black one. I have a black north face brooklyn parka and i like that its waterproof and warm but feel so invisible in it.

So, thoughts on a white snow jacket in 2021?! Not going anywhere near any slopes!

Well, no responses? I'll take that as a good sign, no strong feelings either way. No love for a white snow jacket in 2021 but no hate either!

What do you mean by a snow jacket? Like a ski jacket? Do you have a pic? Puffer style jackets are v fashionable now; so are long classic cut coats in wool or similar. I’m not sure what you mean by snow jacket if you mean more ski jacket or parka jacket? Xo

Who cares if it's in fashion? If you like it, wear it. I always think white coats look grubby though. Especially around the neck and sleeves. Envy

What’s a snow jacket? A ski jacket? Puffer jacket?

M0rT · 12/09/2021 08:19

I have a white winter jacket, it's from a ski company but not that nipped in at the waist shape.
I love it but I had to buy a white microfiber cloth for spot cleaning it or it would live in the wash.
Very warm though, won't need to put it on till nearly December.

Sagaz · 12/09/2021 12:15

I mean a bit like this. This isn't still for sale but I like it!
It's not as dowdy as the dark north face parka I have.

Obviously without the skis or crampons. I'd accessorise with a handbag instead.

Would I look like a great big eejit wandering between my office block and the nearest sandwich bar in this?

You can all be truthful, it's ok, I have teenagers! Im used to the truth.

I’ll be honest, I don’t like it unless you’re actually skiing/on an adventure holiday. It reminds me of E17! If it was longer perhaps mid thigh but still I think the style is a bit ‘chavvy’ for everyday. Just my opinion! Also white always difficult to clean too xo

Galaxyinmypocket · 12/09/2021 15:59

I like it. If you like it then get it.

mim321 · 12/09/2021 16:00

I think white coats can look good, particularly with the furry collars. The challenge is keeping them clean.

AndyMurraysCat · 12/09/2021 16:00

White ski jackets always get mucky quickly, what with the lifts and hot chocolates etc

CaMePlaitPas · 12/09/2021 16:00

Like East 17 in the Stay Nowvideo?

Sagaz · 12/09/2021 16:30

Ha ha, i love that east 17 stay now video!
I wonder where they got their jackets and where they are now!

I don't care about having one chavvy item. I would never manage to pull off a chavvy look. Most of my wardrobe is mint velvet, m&s, wrap london, so if i could introduce a metaphoric gold tooth in to my bland next directory look 😆

I would say have it ! Have 2 if you like it
Who gives a monkeys what anyone else thinks
If you like it , you can afford it and it makes you feel good then wear whatever you want !
Enjoy your coat

PersephoneJames · 12/09/2021 18:05

Oh dear, my Ski jacket is a white top shop sno one and I thought I looked really cool on it!

Isabelle70 · 12/09/2021 19:12

I would just make sure it’s washable and easy to dry.
I have a winter white down thigh long coat I brought to wear to Norway for a trip that didn’t happen! I wore it last winter but my black leather handbag did mark it, so something to keep in mind.

A white ski jacket isn't exactly practical when actually skiing so I guess that's why the fad died out quickly

Pheasantlysurprised · 13/09/2021 01:57

every response on here lately is like a passive aggressive reaction Grin
you must be punished op for asking an innocent question!

Mercurial123 · 13/09/2021 06:30

I think they look good when another colour is used as an accent but not 100% white.

Like with a pink beanie.
I have laughed at some of the responses on here! Especially the ''it's a bit chav'' one. This might come across haughty and it's not meant to but coming across ''chav'' wouldn't look chav on me, it'd look incongruous with the rest of my wardrobe, like I'd taken a jacket I found on the bus. Perhaps. All food for thought anyway! This is why 51 years olds end up shopping at mint velvet in droves!

Wow, that jacket is 1000 pounds. The real deal on the slopes no doubt. Bit more than I want to pay!, the contrast between the navy and the white is too stark imo!
