How many is too many lipsticks??

I am trying to do a ‘no buy’ on cosmetics until I’ve used up a lot of my stash. I did a bit of a stock take of lipsticks and counted 27. I threw away 2 as they smelled a bit iffy, so I have 25. I am sure there is another Mac pink one somewhere so maybe 26.
They range in price from Lancôme to primark, but I’ve realised I’m buying almost identical colours again and again! So time to be ruthless, test them one by one and throw them away.
So How many lipsticks is a usual amount to own?

Ok. Winding back the years (). Two at home, daytime (sunny and gloomy days), various for meeting outfits (say, four) and maybe 3 for dinners/parties.

Now, not working and knocking on a bit, pink Vaseline, all occasions, hurrah.

I’ve got around 20 and they are pretty similar colours as well. Think it’s time to refresh now I’m back in the office!

I have 109% more than I need!! I have no idea how many I have, but last wore lipstick circa 2014 at a cousins wedding and that was the first time in a very long time.

I don't wear any make up, but your making me want to get it out & play with the pretty colours 🤣

No point throwing any out, unless you really don't like them, just don't buy new ones.

Oh god, you sound like me. I've probably got at least 30 but as someone else mentioned I generally only wear the same 5 or so. I have a habit of buying wrong colours as well. I've started buying corals but often they turn up as yucky pale peach which looks weird on me. I keep them so that I can try them on, look in the mirror and think 'Yep, still looks terrible'. Then it goes back in the drawer for next time.
I'm a sucker for 'historic colours'. If I read that Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly had THIS LIPSTICK and you can still get it, I'm there. And it turns up - and looks disgusting 😒

I have 3! One of them is nearly finished though.

I love lipstick especially now I spend my life in Zoom. I have about 8.

I've not counted but I reckon between 40 and 60. I've got them organised in to pinks, peach/nudes and then red. I'm a huge makeup fan and collect a lot as well as buying cheapies. I do rotate them so wear them. However from year I've decided on a make up buying ban. I think I've finally reached my limit!

2 red, 2 nude and 2 neon pink. Many lip oils and 3 nude glosses.

I love lipstick. Shame about masks.

I aim for 2 in each colour category which for me is MLBB, red, pink, nude.

I currently have about 35 despite having been on a no buy for about a million years. Mostly MLBB and nude. Pre covid I wore lipstick about once a week . . . Now I basically never wear it.

My goal is to, one day, use up a whole one before it goes smelly or starts giving me sore lips.
