The holy grail of wide calf boots..................

I'm a size 20, and do a lot of walking so have rather ahem "solid" calves. I really want a pair of knee length boots for work, and thought I'd hit gold with finding Duo Boots but the quality is appalling. I've just put the 3 pairs I bought in the shoe bank in disgust.

I'm happy to spend up to £250 a pair - and my calves are around 44/45 cms

Really? Could you not have returned them with a complaint?

I bought a pair of Duo boots years ago so can't help . Still have them but don't wear much these days.

Moshulu are a lovely company to deal with. Its worth ringing them to ask for some advice

Hotter boots are great and come in different widths. I find they are quite wide on the calf.

Marisota online usually have a good selection of wide calf and wider ankle boots. I have skinny ankles and fat legs and I can get them to fit even me.

Did you really pay what must be a few hundred quid on three pairs of Duo boots then just bin them?

Simply be now do boots for 4 different calf sizes and coupled with different width fittings of feet.

I have just got the Durbarry wide calf boots … cannot wait for it too cool down a bit to walk in them all day. They seem very comfy around the house

The Duo Boots were bought last March just before lockdown in their "closing down sale"... and by the time I'd got them, they'd ceased trading and I was unable to return. I paid around £260 for the 3 pairs - the 2 black ones faded to navy in just a few wears, and the brown are horribly uncomfortable. I'd had a few pairs in the past and found they didn't last either...... I was tempted by the sale, stupidly. They're now back up and trading again but didn't want to know......

I was going to mention this - Erica Davies for John Lewis from 5 Oct. The boots she posted on Instagram do look lovely!
