Carmen Curl Perfect - can any hairdressers tell me whether this would work?

I do like me Carmen rollers for a Big Night Out, and have just been sucked into some advertising for the Carmen Curl perfect which curls while you dry apparently, which is a rather alarming looking hairdryer.

What I'd like to know, is whether it's a gimmick or whether it would actually work. Hair is normally dead straight btw.
TIA.

isn't it just a hairdryer with a big diffuser? in which case it wont make your hair curly but I think it means that the curls you have are less frizzy

i have seen a demo of this and it did work. though i just use my straigteners to curl my hair.

so long as they are ceramic you just pull them through and your hair curls.
the slower you pull the tighter the curl.
