Olaplex used in the bleach at hairdressers?

Hi,
I've heard from some Mumsnetters that their hairdresser uses olaplex mixed with the bleach / hairdye. Does this help? What number Olaplex is it?

thanks

Mine does, I think it’s number 2 but not sure.

Number one goes in the bleach/colour service.

Bleach/colour gets rinsed off. Olaplex 2 is the applied

Then shampoo and conditioner as normal.

Do you notice the difference when it's used? @cheesemarmitepanini @ChrissyPlummer

Yes, @SoTiredNeedHoliday. I didn’t at first, but my hair is bleached and I am very dark naturally and it isn’t in bad condition. I do have a pixie but my hair never feels over dry and is healthy. I use the shampoo and conditioner at home too, alternating with a purple one to keep my blonde from getting brassy.

The mistake a lot of people make is thinking that Olaplex is a smoothing/glossing treatment, it’s a bond repair so you get less breakage/split ends.

Meant to add; my old hairdresser just literally painted bleach on; no Olaplex/toner - nothing. My hair was like chewing gum when I washed it!

interesting! thanks, my hair is so very dry I think I might take some along and get them to add it in next time.

My hairdresser does, not sure what one it is mind but condition has been great.
I noticed a massive difference from just bleach to the olaplex being added.

Yep. Olaplex 1 goes into the bleach mixture. It doesn't really have to be Olaplex; Loreal, ect. do bonding products that can also be added into the bleach, but your stylist should be using one.

I have a huge bottle of Olaplex 2 which I use regularly at home. I usually use it before I go and get my hair lightened too.

My hair has been bleached almost white from multi toned reds and oranges this year. Multiple bleaches, colour remover etc. Olaplex in salon and I use it at home, the shampoo and conditioner plus treatments. My hair is in very good condition despite what it's been through.

I've had bleached hair before, before Olaplex was a thing and the difference is remarkable.

Mine also adds 1 to the bleach, uses 2 as a treatment then uses the shampoo and conditioner.
I use number 6 at home after every wash. It really does help if you keep using it
