I really am trying harder to look more put together. Most of the time. This world of bootleg trousers has confused things. Im not sure what looks frumpy. I think im looking for something as comfy as leggings but they look like work trousers. Can anyone please help?

These do a lot of pull-on trousers but in fabrics that hang well:

Roman originals have a great selection of trousers. Very comfy and inexpensive for work.

Cos elastic waist trousers might be worth a look, I love mine and they are bigger than you might think, also own the wide leg joggers.

Treggings. Godawful word. Sainsbury's do them as do Simply Be.

I've got an order for coming from Thread tomorrow - several pairs of trousers, tops and a pair of sandals. I'm a 22 and 40yo and feel so bloody frumpy, I thought I'd try it to see if it works out for me. They recommend outfits based on some questions - lots of suggestions were hideous to me but I've become a a bit stuck in my ways and not at all fashionable. I looked at the various subscription type clothing companies, but they aren't set up for plus size. This lot are.

If anyone is interested, a referral link gets me £20 towards my next order and you get 20% off your first order: www.thread.com/SaUudtiMkRDH3KqRaOe9dzg7E0qdoZ8gH

Not quite as comfortable as leggings but try the Mia slim trousers from m&s - they go up to size 22 and are really nice: not at all frumpy and a modern shape.

Also saint and Sofia as a PP says - I don’t massively rate the quality but there’s a good choice of shapes and they are very comfy.

I especially like the sound of the mia trousers.

Also jersey slim fit trousers from m and s

Marks and Sparks £15 jersey trousers go up to a size 22. They’re black or navy. I have four pairs and I think they’re pretty smart. They wash well and they’re a bit dressier than leggings.

Perfect. Thank you.
