That's how I feel right now. I have avoided nights out, given excuses all because I have no idea whats hip, now, suitable for my 14/16 serious APPLE shape. FGS my middle is bigger than my boobs. How on earth do you hide it, or should I... embrace it? I spend most of the time in jeans and a jumper.

it is impossible to hide.
yes, you should embrace it. because it is not the only thing about you. it doesn not define you. it is not all there is to you.
go out and enjoy yourself. anyone who doesnt like you for your big tummy isnt worth knowing anyways. dont let trendyness, or the lack of it stop y ou from living.

having said that, for your own self esteem, do something to deflate your body size if it bothers you. such as excercies or sports. if it doesnt bother you, do it anyways for health reasons.

but go and enjoy yourself.

thanks and am currently working on the weight issue. However this time last year I was 10.5 stone and still had this middle thing going on. (I can't even see my flower even at that weight). Sighhhhh. The thought of walking into any high street store is scary. I have no idea what to look for. So... I cancel.

Get yourself to Sainsburys, they have lots of very reasonably priced smock tops, that aren't too excessively smocky, if that makes sense
Mostly in nice sensible block colours!

i hAD A massive belly at size 16. am now a size 10 and still got mahoosive belly. its the post three baby coupled with bad genetics for stretchy skin type thing. unless i have surgery, i will never get rid of this belly.
smock tops are wonderful

I'm a size 12-14 (OK, I'm actually this mythical size that nobody caters for called a 13, but hey..) and I have a belly. A c-section followed by no exercise and a lot of cake for about 2 years has kept it nice and chubby . Exercise / diet doesn't do much to shift it (I think only a madonna-style routine would shift it and who can be arsed to do that?)
I have given up trying to hide it, although I steer clear of anything that accentuates it too much. Smock-ish tops (not the awful ones that flare out from just below the bust and make you look preggers...more than long, gently flared type) worn with skinny jeans and nice boots is my winter staple this year. Wrap tops and dresses and tops with patterns or ruching around the tum area also look ok on me. Accentuate the norks and waist on nights out!
