Will white tights and a pink dress make me look like a child?

Going to a wedding on Saturday and have a pink dress. I've been bitten half to death though by fleas - not mine, I don't own a pet, but I bought a sofa off Facebook for the spare room and it's bloody riddled!! Angry anyway if I wore white tights with my pink dress would I look too much like a toddler or is this ok at the age of nearly 40?

I wouldn’t wear white tights tbh. Can’t you cover your legs with fake tan or Sally Hanson leg makeup?

LubaLuca · 31/08/2021 21:16

I haven't seen any adult wearing white tights outside of period costume. Would natural tights cover enough?

SleepingStandingUp · 31/08/2021 21:16

Can you do a photo?

Backtobacktheyfacedeachother · 31/08/2021 21:17

I think you would be better with natural tan tights than white

Why white tights? And yes, very childish tbh.

I'm bruised looking with mosquito bites (allergic) and I couldn't give a shiny shit any what people think - I can't control it.

Maybe a touch of fake tan or at least skin tone tights?

PepperPepperMan · 31/08/2021 21:17

Oh gosh no, sally as above and tan tights would be so much better.

YourFinestPantaloons · 31/08/2021 21:19

I'm pleased I asked 😂 just thought they might be a bit quirky!

Concealer on the bites then natural tights will look fine I think. I do the same when I want to cover up some old tattoos.

OublietteBravo · 31/08/2021 21:20

Opaque tights in a neutral colour are what you want - like these

Hopdathelf · 31/08/2021 22:33

You’ll look like Grayson Perry.

SionnachRua · 31/08/2021 22:35

Nooooo, don't do it. Tights that match your skin tone or a bit of Sally Hansen to hide it. I'd sooner do bare legs with blemishes than white tights.

Givemethatknife · 31/08/2021 22:49

You might look like a lost pantomime dame?

Can you wear a trouser suit or maxi dress

Callcat · 31/08/2021 22:50

Greyson Perry 🤣

Spudlet · 01/09/2021 06:33

Definitely Grayson Perry!

AnyFucker · 01/09/2021 06:50

Christ, no

If you even possess a pair of white tights Chuck them in the bin right now

Luvacuppatea · 01/09/2021 07:43

You need two pairs of tights. First pair (must be a good close fit) in a colour as near to your natural skin tone as possible in a thickness to cover the bites. On top of these a pair of sheer (think 7 denier) tights in a natural shade to best match your dress (not white!). Hopefully the effect will be that you are only wearing the outer sheer tights. This has worked for me in the past when I had an eczema-type rash on my legs.

Luvacuppatea · 01/09/2021 07:47

I’ve just remembered that the ‘under tights’ I used were a light or medium weight support tight - these give good coverage and cling to your legs so well that you can slide the other pair easily over the top. Not the most comfortable things, but bearable for a few hours in an emergency situation

porites · 01/09/2021 07:54

Plus Indorex off ebay/amazon for the sofa/house

Soontobe60 · 01/09/2021 07:57

Trust me, the way to divert attention from your flea bitten legs is not to wear white tights!
Just fake tan them and be done with it.

AlrightThereSkippy · 01/09/2021 07:57

Yes, sorry.

I'd switch outfit if I was covered in flea bites. Jumpsuit or something I could wear with opaques. Sorry, what a bugger. Bugs...bugger...ahem, sorry. I have been bitten by secondhand furniture too (bitten...eh? Oh God, I CAN'T STOP)!

Also got eaten by fleas at a friend's house. So annoying and then I was freaking out about them coming home in my bag!

ChateauMargaux · 01/09/2021 08:06

You have 3 more days for them to heal, get lavender and rosehip oil and apply it frequently.

ballsdeep · 01/09/2021 08:10

I wouldn't. I'd be afraid of resembling a nougat bar

BikeRunSki · 01/09/2021 08:13

Your look like you were on your way to a preschool ballet class.

itsgettingwierd · 01/09/2021 08:13

I'd go with the cover up.

Whenever I've had bites and out tights or something on they've aggravated the skin and made them itch more.

borntobequiet · 01/09/2021 08:15

Unfortunately you might look like Grayson Perry. Do you plan to wear a big bow in your hair?
