I'd like it to be good for casual pub lunches.

I'm 5'7", 52yo and have it in size eight it comes up very big It's not as short as it looks in the picture.

Ankle boots and opaque tights.

AppropriateAdult · 31/08/2021 10:34

Black tights and ankle boots, I think.

Palavah · 31/08/2021 10:36

Yep as DrNo says.

You could belt it sometimes if that didn't make it too long on you. I'd wear with a trilby or round wide-brimmed felt hat.

I'd probably also do knee boots sometimes for warmth. Brogues would be fine too.

Palavah · 31/08/2021 10:38

Also, that looks more burgundy then purple. Black, navy, tan, or light grey accessories would all work.

Pinkycheeks · 31/08/2021 10:38

Boots or ankle boots. Like the hat idea 👏👏👏

AndTime · 31/08/2021 11:27

I'd go with black opaque tights and chunky biker boots.

Nomorefuckstogive · 01/09/2021 23:26

Opaques and chunky ankle or knee high boots.

MrsSkylerWhite · 01/09/2021 23:27

Knee high boots

Doc Martens! Super in fashion right now and so comfortable once you’ve broken them in

I'll second that. With black tights

A couple of years ago I saw a pair of DM style boots (don't think they were actual DM's) with a kind of engraved pattern on them, a bit floral, a bit abstract. Muted blue, pink and purple. I sooo regret not buying them and have seen nothing at all similar since.

Echo DMs with black or navy tights.

LegendaryReady · 02/09/2021 10:28

Black DM's with navy tights?

I generally don't wear black. It doesn't suit me and over the last 10 years have completely weeded it out of my wardrobe. I have chunky navy nubuck ankle boots and navy opaques

Black tights and Doc Martens

Divebar2021 · 02/09/2021 10:41

You could layer that over slim jeans or trousers. In fact probably over a variety of shaped trousers.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 02/09/2021 12:21

I would wear opaque tights with boots or shoes.

Black opaques or suitably coloured. Possibly patterned tights.

Footwear you could wear flat shoes, a brogue, chunky loafer or Mary Jane style perhaps, ankle boots or long boots.

You could mix it up by adding a belt, either a tight one or a more slouchy one or wearing over leggings.

CorianderBee · 02/09/2021 13:11

Knee high boots and tights

grapewine · 02/09/2021 13:46

Black DM's with navy tights?

I've been known to along with black bag. But I'm no style icon so I don't know if it would be some awful faux pas, to be fair.

newrubylane · 02/09/2021 13:50

Leather leggings and hi tops
