Wedding guest dress - carrying baby weight and breastfeeding

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 27/08/2021 17:55

I have a wedding coming up. I'm still carrying some extra baby weight (a size or two but especially round the middle also due to diastasis recti and have huge boobs!)

Im around a size 10-12 now, 5'4, usually like fitted dresses / pencil skirt style but not at the moment.

Need something to wear that is suitable for a wedding, flattering and that I can breast feed in! Not much to ask then...

TIA

That'll be a floaty wrap dress then, won't it?

Hadnt thought it a wrap dress actually.

That's lovely but imagine I'd look awful in it and that fabric might not be forgiving?

Think I may feel like that about whatver I wear tonight. I can do jeans and a good fitting loose top but can't imagine wearing any kind of dress and not looking huge!

I'm thinking there is always Spanx which might help me on the middle area 🤔

Oh good.

It's not too much either so I could probably find occasion to wear it more than once hopefully.

I am back to liking this

But I have ordered this - not sure whether I'll like it or if I've ordered the right size

www.silkfred.com/womens/clothing/dresses/midi-dresses/danna/red-leopard-wrap-dress-with-belt-fastening-and-short-sleeves

Also need something for the hen party day the day before but didn't really want to buy two dresses

And will also need shoes and a bag as I have no idea where anything is and I'm not rooting through the loft or garage in spider season!

Can I wear shoes that are not v high and still look nice?

Did you have any maternity/nursing dresses that were suitable for an occasion? I only ask because in a moment if desperation when everything I'd ordered wasn't quite right, I tried on a maternity/nursing dress that I'd worn while pregnant and it was so flattering still! Even without a bump and with a diastasis tummy instead. And it was a nursing dress so no stress there. Thought it might be worth a mention

They have a few on here

The dress is lovely Smile
Have you looked on In The Style? Dani Dyer did a collection that had beautiful breastfeeding dresses & so did Stacey Solomon

Have you checked out the Can I Breastfeed in it? Facebook group. It's fabulous for this sort of thing

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 07/10/2021 20:09

Thank you.

I don't have a maternity dress that would be suitable unfortunately.

Didn't know about those collections or the Facebook group.

Looks like the dress I've ordered is due to arrive tomorrow so if I don't like it I'll be looking for something else!
