Harem style trousers like these but not as baggy...

Hi, hopefully my pic uploads!

I’m looking for similar trousers as I love the floatyness, the tapered leg and the patterns.

But not too keen on the baggy crotch!!

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Isabel do nice harem trousers, not silly baggy www.izabel.com/collections/harem-pants

MsWalterMitty · 24/08/2021 18:10

Okay, I’ve found some so that wasn’t too hard Blush .. but any other recommendations would be great!!

Also... If you were a secondary school teacher would you wear these in the pic attached with say a tighter plain black top. Do they look like pyjamas?

Fab! Thanks. Not too pricey either 👍

Fat Face do similar trousers. They are really comfortable and I practically live in mine but I’m not sure they’d be smart enough for school. That said, they have them in plain colours so might be an idea

If you like the style, you might like Lucy & Yak Alexa trousers. They come in plain colours and more structured fabrics but still with a super comfy elasticated waist and baggy hips/legs - they'd be ideal for work.

I saw some on an Instagram ad yesterday from Studio12. Good prices but not tried

Yeah, they have loads thanks! Will also google cuffed trousers as I couldn’t think of any other names for them

I think harem trousers need to be cuffed. Those last ones you linked to, op, do look like pj bottoms

I think they are smart enough for teaching with a plain black t shirt

AnyFucker · 24/08/2021 18:50

Those Lucy and Yak ones are very children’s tv presenter if you like that look Smile

dottypencilcase · 24/08/2021 18:56

This is right up my street OP. After children and csections, I can't get comfy in any other style of trousers! Look up the brands Oska, Forgotten Tribes, Nomads, Shahara, Masai and Grizas. Pricey but worth it. 'Lagenlook' is the style you're searching for.

Unmute · 24/08/2021 18:58

I have the trousers in your second pic OP, and they do look like pyjamas. They're very thin and light, and extremely comfortable. They are cuffed, although it's not obvious in the pic. I mainly wear them as pjs, and very occasionally for walking the dog in the morning if I can't be bothered getting properly dressed. I wouldn't wear them to work.

Bipbopbee · 24/08/2021 19:13

The Alexa trousers by Lucy and Yak are lovely. There are lots of plain colours as well as patterned.

No, I’m a teacher in primary, and although our dress code is quite relaxed, I wouldn’t wear these for work. But I’d love a pair for floating round in at home!
Onebabyandamadcat · 24/08/2021 19:21

I'm a primary teacher and wear this style of trousers with a vest top (thick strap, respectful length not a strappy boobs everywhere one) in the summer. Work perfectly especially as I teach a very practical subject so I'm often on the floor, on the tables etc - don't need to worry about accidentally flashing people or tighter trousers stopping me getting onto a table or the like. Really comfy and cool in a hot class as well

Rina66 · 24/08/2021 19:46

These are from Threadshed, the shop is in Heywood but they're available on line too. I've ordered quite a few things from them.

I ordered those second ones from forgotten tribes op , I returned them as the sizing was weird and they weren't very well made. Maybe I was unlucky , but I thought I'd chip in.

The return process was smooth though so no regrets.

MsWalterMitty · 26/08/2021 20:18

Thanks @HappyWipings that’s worth knowing.

I’ve gone safe and bought some plain black from HM.

spooktrain · 01/09/2021 18:25

I bought some from forgotten tribes and the quality of the material was abysmal - cheap rayon that bobbled after one wash. I'm living in some I bought on Amazon last year (woven viscose fabric) which I think has less of a casual look than jersey, so possibly more suited for work?
This is the link (bought off the Italian site) www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07QX8KBKG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1

MsWalterMitty · 01/09/2021 18:27

Thanks, I’ll take a look x
