Want to convert shoulder bags to cross body - any ideas???

I have quite a few lovely handbags bought a while back that have shorter straps (made to be worn over the shoulder). I really prefer to wear bags cross body now and wondered if anyone had found a place that could do something clever to them to make the straps longer..... Would have to be a specialist leather place. Am based in London. If anyone has done this successfully I'd love to hear how you did it! TIA.

Do you have a photo of the bag, please?

You can also buy canvas style straps on Etsy and places like that. Won’t work with all styles of bags but some leather bags look good with a contrast strap.

Thanks Kirsten and Hairybaker. Too many to send photos of them all - but generally medium/large size and with thicker straps. I had had a look round Etsy and I think there are solutions for some smaller clutch type bags, but trickier for the styles I've got, I think. Will photograph when I'm home.

If the leather is quite thick and you wanted a strap attached, you could add a tab with a metal ring on one end, and attach a longer strap to the rings.

If you wanted straps removed and replaced, maybe a cobbler could do it.

There are places called handbag clinic or bag repairers you could try.

DSepending on the style and value of the bag, I'd probably sew or use a stud/rivet to attach the long strap. This company sells leather repair type things.
