what are you on about, dear?

MrsBadger · 01/12/2007 15:30

with what?

open toes? No
peeptoes? No
closed toes? Possibly
shorts and boots? Oh yes.

bobbiewickham · 01/12/2007 15:32

Well, it's with a knee length party dress.
Have horrible white legs and don't do fake tan in winter.
But tights don't always work, do they? Which tights are acceptable these days? Black ones are out, sheer natural are fogey, coloured ones are too young for me, so what do I do?

Oh, can I join in? Tights or not (if so black or nude?) - green dress, black sarah jane/mary jane somethig shoes?

LadyOfWassail · 01/12/2007 15:33

Bobbie, are you me?

LadyOfWassail · 01/12/2007 15:33

What colour is your dress?

bobbiewickham · 01/12/2007 15:35

I haven't bought it yet! LOL

But I want a nice party dress this season, and the whole legwear thing is putting me off.

I don't want to have to do trousers all the time. I look slimmer in dresses.

But I don't know what to do with my legs!

As long as you don't wear 3 for a £1 tesco value tights, I don't think you have a problem.

Buy some decent, sheer ones and you will be fine. And if you are wearing open toed shoes you can get sandal-toed tights without a seam.

I wouldn't go out without tights in the winter, and I can't be arsed with stockings or hold ups.

bobbiewickham · 01/12/2007 15:37

What colour?

Nude?

LadyOfWassail · 01/12/2007 15:38

If you have nice legs I would go bare, bit of moisturiser etc. but if you are like me, I suit tights better so I guess tights... or stocking to feel a little less 'old fogey'?

bobbiewickham · 01/12/2007 15:39

Nice legs - no. Shape not too bad (from knee down) colour somewhere between corpse and rice pudding.

You can get foundation for legs - I saw some in Boots last week. I don't know how good it is though.
I would just wear tights as they have the added benefit of holding my tummy in and making my legs look slimmer.

kittylouise · 01/12/2007 15:52

air stocking

But any dress I choose will present the same dilemma.

Anyway, you choose me a dress. Size 12, skittle shaped (acc to T&S) don't like my arms or tummy.

fishie · 01/12/2007 16:09

get coloured tights but yes get dress first. m&s have really good purple ones and fab silver, which are basically grey with a sheen. i've been wearing with heeled ankle boots and short dresses.

Go for posh trousers avoids the dilemma!!

bobbiewickham · 01/12/2007 16:15

But what shoes with tights like that?

Can't wear ankle boots with dresses as legs look stunted enough already. Will look sawn off at the ankle.

bobbiewickham · 01/12/2007 16:15

Fed up of trousers.

how about something like this?

those glittery ones aren't as good as the metallic ones also in cod's link. although if you want gold....
