Comfy and flattering jeans / jeggings (just had a baby!)

Just as the title says... baby is 2 months old. Maternity clothes are a bit big now but I'm not in my pre-pregnancy clothes, probably a size bigger, and far from a flat stomach as I have some ab separation.

I just want some jeans or jeggings that are comfy and fit well. Better if they hold everything in but most jeans tend to do that anyway IME. I tend to find jeggings most comfy but either will do.

No specific budget but thinking Next / M&S

I do have a couple of parties to go to where I may wear jeans with a nice top as I don't feel ready for a dress and don't really want to spend on one that I might only wear once

Thank you!

Anyone?

If not I might try M&S as a safe bet!

Next have discontinued my favourite jeans, but these are very similar. Wash well and don't lose their shape.

Darklane · 22/08/2021 12:21

Asda jeggings are surprisingly good & really cheap as you probably won’t need them for long though some I’ve got have worn as well as high street ones.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 22/08/2021 12:42

Those Next ones look nice. I am tempted to order a pair.

I'll have a look in Asda next time I'm there too.

I actually really like dark grey jeans but dont find them in many styles. A lot of places only do solid black.

I also have a two month old Smile and am currently living in some dark grey jeggings that I got in the White Stuff sale. They're so comfy, not too tight in the leg

tigerbreadandtea · 22/08/2021 13:22

Spanx leggings are fantastic for post birth. You can wear with a nice top for parties. Worth the money. They often have discounts on asos.

Hereforthedramaz · 22/08/2021 13:26

As leggings go these are the best I've ever had.

Thick enough to hold everything in and definitely do not become see through on the bum! Really really comfy and long lasting.

Love leggings do jeggings that are pretty good

Allthesefolks · 22/08/2021 13:27

I lived in the M&S high waisted jeggings post babies

Meant to say also high waisted which helps with tummy slimming as well as why they are surfer comfy

tigerbreadandtea · 22/08/2021 13:30

I also lived in love leggings high waist leggings. I didn't bother with jeans until recently (have lost a stone of baby weight?)

Hopeislost · 23/08/2021 17:27

The M&S high waisted jeggings are amazing. £15 each and they come in lots of colours. Very flattering and v stretchy! They come in different lengths too.

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 30/08/2021 22:14

I've ordered the next ones and I like them. Really I'm between sizes as these are a ten and they fit but are a bit more snug than is usually go fit but didn't want to get a bigger size as im hoping to slim down plus I wore them out today so grey do fit and they're nice

I need more clothes though so thinking if ordering the M&S ones. I'd like the Spanx ones but because if the price I want to get them when thurs going to fit me a while. If I get them now they'd probably be too small in my usual size.

The xx mint velvet ones look nice but look like leggings rather than jeans

M&S boyfriend are extremely comfortable.

MaverickDanger · 31/08/2021 10:13

Love Leggings do jeggings. I’m still in my maternity leggings from there 8 months on, they are just so comfy.

For more structured jeans, I’ve ordered the Asda Wonderfit jeans. Great reviews, not expensive and dual sizes so great if you’re between sizes like me currently

Hereforthedramaz · 31/08/2021 10:55

The New Look lift and sculpt jeggings are surprisingly good (and cheap).

Thick to smooth everything down and elasticated waistband.

I'm finding them a nice transition from only wearing leggings for the past 18 months to real trousers in the future!

MazyontheDipper · 01/09/2021 17:06

I know that dungarees are a bit of a marmite clothing item, but they are fabulously comfy and stylish, depending on what you wear with them. Alos, no shame in wearing your maternity jeans for a bit longer....if you're not comfy, it will show in your face!!!!!

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 01/09/2021 17:23

I have some maternity dungarees and love them. I've thought about whether I could still wear them or get some non maternity ones.

I don't want to wear maternity jeans as they are a bit big on me now in the leg and waist plus they don't give structure to the belly area like normal jeans do so I think they are comfy but less flattering!

Try Fatface for denim dungarees. They wash and wear beautifully. £59 a pair.
BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 01/09/2021 21:15

I think I've eyed them up before @MazyontheDipper They are really nice but feel like I'm not sure I can get a way with them at my age (late 30s and not pregnant!) not sure though. I am tempted

I lived in these in different colours for the first two winters after DD (born in Dec 2019). Also got the non fleece lined ones. Uniqlo is amazing quality for the price. www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-heattech-ultra-stretch-leggings-trousers-429152.html?dwvar_429152_color=COL32&dwvar_429152_size=SMA001&cgid=IDleggings1392&hassubcat=false

Pigtailsandall · 02/09/2021 08:23

After I had a baby, I bought some Uniqlo jeggings and basically lived them during mat leave. So comfortable and soft. They helped me bridge the gap to my pre-baby size(ish)

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 02/09/2021 18:30

I have never bought from Uniqlo but those jeggings look nice. Especially the grey which is the colour I've been wanting. I'll have a look at their leggings and other things too.

I just had a quick look and got a £10 off voucher for signing up to emails so now feel like I'll probably use it!

Snag leggings are great and have pockets too which I find invaluable. They are reasonably priced, non see through. I really like mine.
