Where to find a nightie?

My mum wants a short sleeved (not strappy), mid calf length nightie for christmas. Nowhere at Bluewater today had anything that came close (except a rather cheap and nasty jersey one in M&S). Have tried White Company, Hush, Cath Kidston and Toast and only found one that comes close. Where else should I try? Thanks!

bodas? Though I'm sure White co have some that would fit the bill

hatwoman · 29/11/2007 22:42

this one?

AllBuggiedOut · 29/11/2007 22:43

Nothing in White Co - the woman in the shop today suggested that I bought a strappy one and cardie to go over the top . Nothing in Bodas either, but thanks for link.

That long one is too long sadly. Shame as it does look nice. But mum is a bit on the short side

AllBuggiedOut, that's just what my MIL wants too!

I've looked in Debenhams, M&S and online and I can't find a short nightdress that doesn't plunge to the navel, covered in Disney characters or hospital-gown white.

Help!!

AllBuggiedOut · 30/11/2007 08:17

Difficult, isn't it Heated! What do you think to the Toast one I linked to?

The Toast one looks the right length but I find white ones don't stay looking pristine for very long.

I thought I found just the thing in John Lewis but when I looked more closely at the print I realised they were reindeers!

Still searching...

Is thiswww.patra.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=577&C1=1&C2=28&C3=0 any good?

I did also get a nightie of similar description for my mil from Jenners in Edinburgh once. The brand was, I think, Triumph, but there seems to be no specific Triumph website, just Triumph products scattered about lingerie sites.

AllBuggiedOut · 01/12/2007 08:53

Like that one merlotmama, thanks.

oh hang on, I may have just the thing
aha
MIL loves their longsleeved ones

MrsBadger · 01/12/2007 09:08

or Land's End

AllBuggiedOut · 01/12/2007 09:38

Does "knitted cotton" mean jersey? I think she'd prefer a normal cotton one.

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 01/12/2007 09:53

yes, knitted cotton is tshirty jersey

some woven ones here

AllBuggiedOut · 01/12/2007 10:09

Woven, that's the word I was looking for! Never heard of Nightingales - are they nice enough quality for a gift?

MrsBadger · 01/12/2007 10:13

I don't know - JackieNo linked to them on a previous nightie-quest thread.

Past Times have a nice one too

hoxtonchick · 01/12/2007 10:13

i think that toast one is lovely - wouldn't she like it?

AllBuggiedOut · 01/12/2007 10:28

Yes, the Toast one is gorgeous and I may well go for it. Think mum would like the Past Times one too, thanks.

my mum came out with the same suggestion for herself today. "a jersey one that doesn;t have teddy bears or mickey mouse on it" I was amazed how difficult it was. found a nice grey one in M&S but they only had upto size 14 or bigger than size 20, I;m guessing mum would need a 16. M&s also had an ok but slightly too old-lady / little girl-ish (oculd be either really). so resurrecting this thread in case there's any new inspiration
