I am very hairy the vast majority of the time. I like how I look when just shaved but it’s way too much effort.

I might shave my toes if I’m going out in sandals!

ViceLikeBlip · 14/08/2021 11:16

Hairy pits here. Partly because angry, red, lumpy shaving rash looks even worse!

RubyGoat · 14/08/2021 11:18

Yes, because it's easier to apply deodorant. It's the only part that I do regularly remove hair from TBH. My deodorant isn't an antiperspirant type though, & it's aluminium free.

PeaAndHamSoupFromAChicken · 14/08/2021 11:24

I do, I find deodorant works better on me when I've shaved.

Both teens don't shave anywhere though. Attitudes have definitely shifted there as the bullying was awful at my high school if even a hint of stubble was showing on legs or underarms.

Your choices aren't just hair or rash.. how do you shave? I mean if it's your choice not to, that's 100% fine, but if it's just because you've not found a way that works for you then I'm sure we can help!!

I have a bath once a week (usually shower) and shave legs and pits. Get a bit stubbly in between but I'm not too bothered. I may shave again in the week if I plan to wear a dress or a strappy top.

aiwblam · 14/08/2021 11:31

Yes I shave them every time I shower. I find the hairs hang onto the sweat smell so it's better to shave it off. I don't wear deodorant/antiperspirant because I'd prefer not to have substances under my armpits so for me it's definitely preferable to shave.

megletthesecond · 14/08/2021 11:32

I wax them.

RobinPenguins · 14/08/2021 11:33

I epilate mine. One of my friends doesn’t shave hers and it looks great on her because she’s slim and has a quirky style. I’m fat and frumpy and would just look a mess.

PermanentTemporary · 14/08/2021 11:34

Yes plus I have a Phillips Lumea so I don't have to shave much, it's been really effective on that area.

I have friends who don't remove hair there and it looks great.

MikeWozniaksGloriousTache · 14/08/2021 11:35

Not religiously. I don’t find I smell a lot more when the hair is longer. I hate shaving / removing hair though as it always results in itchy stinging pits. There might be “the way that works for me” but I can’t be arsed to find it. Id rather have hair it’s a big deal. Plus during this pregnancy my armpit skin has darkened a lot so it looks like there’s always hair their now anyway

ufucoffee · 14/08/2021 11:35

Yes I do. I think hairy armpits look horrible.

Wimowehwimowehwimowehwimoweh · 14/08/2021 11:36

I halfheartedly shave mine a Couple of times a month when I can be bothered or when I’m likely to wear a sleeveless top.
If DH tells me “you need to shave your armpits” I make a point of not shaving them for several more days Grin

NotMyCat · 14/08/2021 11:37

Yes and no. One I shave, the other I use a trimmer! I've had surgery on one armpit and it's got a lump so razors don't work well

ZZGirl · 14/08/2021 11:39

Yes, I'm just so uncomfortable without them being shaved.

SocksAndTheCity · 14/08/2021 11:41

I'm sure they don't look horrible - don't be so hard on yourself! Mine look fabulous and I've never done any sort of hair removal on them Smile.
YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/08/2021 11:41

I haven't shaved anything for 30 years. :)

BeetleyCarapace · 14/08/2021 11:41

Yes, I shave mine. I prefer how it looks and feels, and I also get whiffy quicker if I don't.

LadyGAgain · 14/08/2021 11:42

Yes almost every day (dark hair). And whilst I want to be more 'girl power' about it, I just can't reconcile my intrinsic reaction to unshaved pits on women. Same for legs, bikini, brows, tash. I'm sorry. I will try harder.

museumum · 14/08/2021 11:44

I veet but only once a week or fortnight. I absolutely hate shaving stubble but the soft fluff that grows in after veet is totally fine.

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 14/08/2021 11:47

I shave mine every second day, always have. I don’t have any rashes etc though and I find my deodorant works better then, I use the Mitchum sticks.

Legs I shave once a week maybe. I wear nighties in bed and don’t like the feeling when it too long.

Pubic hair though - pfft, you could plait that!

MonkeyPuddle · 14/08/2021 11:48

Sometimes I do sometimes I don’t, I have done about a week ago after about 8 months of not shaving. Doesn’t really bother me either way but I generally can’t be bothered.

Peanutsandchilli · 14/08/2021 11:48

I shave my armpits and legs in the shower but my 17 year old daughter has never shaved either. Her choice and I'm proud of her for not bowing to peer pressure. I don't do down below though, the itching drives me bonkers.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 14/08/2021 11:52

attitudes have definitely shifted, they famously dont shave in europe,

OP posts:
fuzzymoomin · 14/08/2021 11:55

I always shave armpits because I find the hair holds sweat and smells, so it feels hygienic to shave. I shave legs if anyone is going to see, like if I'm going out in a skirt. Otherwise I don't bother, it's a lot of effort, I have very fast growing hair. If I shave in the morning I have stubble by evening, such a pain! I'm jealous of you shave-once-a-week folk.

AfterSchoolWorry · 14/08/2021 11:55

I always do. Pits are far less hairy though than when I was younger.
