Casual Hoodies - where to buy from?

DingoDollar · 13/08/2021 22:14

So I'm going to admit summer is over.

I need some casual jumpers/hoodies for with jeans.

Before I head to Superdry anywhere else I should check out please?

I’ve literally been thinking the same thing. I quite like the adidas zippers that don’t have a hood as sometimes the hood annoys me with a jacket on top. I always liked Jack Wills ones but gone right off them since Mike Ashley took over.
Following for ideas too!

What's your style like? We tend to get the very basic ones from H&M in our house, but then also pick out lots of "fancier" ones - suited to each person - on Etsy. While it can be a little more hit or miss, the "hits" are usually worth it, in my opinion!

I also (quite randomly) really like Ralph Lauren hoodies, they're sturdy but cosy. Smile

I like Scamp and Dude (the more muted ones egg navy and black or grey and black), or Betty bramble cowl neck hoodies.

Bloodylovecheese · 13/08/2021 23:23

Goose & Gander

Ikeameatballs · 13/08/2021 23:29

Following with interest. I’d like a charcoal knitted hoodie, ideally zip through.

FanGirlFoof · 13/08/2021 23:41

I like the hood less Adidas too. I'll look up some of the other suggestions, thank you.

Else's Attic, Hari and the gang.

DingoDollar · 13/08/2021 23:43

Thanks all.

I don't really have much of a style I think is the problem. Blush

Just after something comfy that washes well and if it can be flattering then a bonus.

Cos have a couple in their sale. Or Uniqlo?

DelphiniumBlue · 14/08/2021 01:10

I have one from Bam that is great, not too thick, washes well, bum covering and not too high around the neck.

AngeloMysterioso · 14/08/2021 01:22

The fleece lined zip hoodies from Uniqlo are ridiculously cosy. I have 4- including two men’s size L which I got when I was heavily pregnant/carrying DS in a sling. We still have hoody cuddles now, it’s big enough to wrap around us both and have a snuggle.

We've got a random selection. I don't like zipped ones and for some reason hoodless sweatshirts feel wrong to me.
My softest, cosiest and thickest is a Fat Face, although it's a little too long (and I'm tall). Most worn is a North Face in a lovely pale blue, but it has shrunk (sleeves have gone short) and doesn't come out of the wash soft. Also have an ancient Gap, which has a terry style lining which I love.
DD has a couple of Superdry which are thick and good quality, in fact she has a few Superdry things that are really nice, I'm always surprised at how well made they are.

Hop27 · 14/08/2021 04:09

Lululemon

SocksAndTheCity · 14/08/2021 06:52

My favourite hoodie is an organic cotton one from Baukjen.

MayorGundersonsDogRufus · 14/08/2021 06:58

Uniqlo are always good for this sort of thing.

Agree! I've ended up with a fair few Superdry hoodies and been very impressed.

My go-to is Baukjen for more understated though. They have a sale on currently so you might get something there.

BikeRunSki · 14/08/2021 07:28

Lands End hoodies are very plain and excellent quality.

CatsForLife · 14/08/2021 07:31

Pearl and Earl

Ooh, extra 20% off sale too...

I have a Rab Amy hoody that I love and might get in another colour this autumn.
It's lined and warm enough to wear as a jacket until nearly October.
Just very snuggly and comfortable but has a shape so I look a bit less dowdy then other hoodies.
American Eagle used to be good too, I remember borrowing my brothers but I am a bit old for branding on my clothes outside the house now.

Darklane · 14/08/2021 07:44

The favourite ones I have are heavy pure lambs wool, knitted ones with a zip front & pockets from Woolovers but don’t know if they still do them.

FastFood · 14/08/2021 08:21

Uniqlo or Colorful Standards

paddlingon · 14/08/2021 14:29

I have a couple of soft and comfy Abercrombie ones.
