I'm I The Only One Who Looks a Wreck After a Spa Day!

I just had a lovely afternoon with my friend in a beautiful little local Spa to us. We had a cream tea and a couple of treatments. I had a hot stones massage (divine!) followed by a facial. I felt like a million dollars but ........ I caught sight of myself in a mirror! I look like the hair bear bunch and even after I had brushed my hair I looked no better. It's always the same - I always come out looking much worse than when I went in! 😀

Haha I haven't noticed this, but imagine I'd be the same! Last spa day I had, I was heavily pregnant, so didn't have any of the hot treatments or anything. I bet you'll look gawjus in the morning!

Definitely! You can't wear make up. Facials make me so shiny and mess up the edges of my hair. Usually involves getting my hair a bit wet at some point and generally can't wear contact lenses so have to wear glasses. I look absolutely terrible. I do feel a lot better though if I remember correctly

We were buying loo roll and and she was holding a bottle of merlot and a packet of fancy crisps. I have never resented any one so much!

Oh no! Life is so unfair sometimes isn't it. Your description of your hair is exactly how I look. I have fine hair so even when they put a hair band or whatever around it it just goes flat then add to that the inevitable moisturiser etc ends up somehow getting into the roots and there you have it, my greasy, flat, shiny face look.

On the good side the hot rocks have done wonders for my aching neck and back.

Im so pleased it's not just me! My friend, of course, looked radiant afterwards and her hair looked as lovely as when we went in!

I have made it a personal rule that I will literally never have a facial or massage at a spa day in company ever again. Never. I would definitely have a facial or massage on my own, on a day off sort of thing, but if friends etc said "ooh lets do a spa day" I would stick to a foot treatment or luxury manicure or something, but nothing that requires me to remove my makeup or get my hair greasy.

Not a spa day but I treated myself to a facial a couple of weeks ago, it was lovely but OMG, I ran home afterwards, 80 quid and I looked like I had been sleeping rough for week skin still feels great though!

I think that's a really good tip if going with friends to just have a manicure or pedicure treatment. Even the massage meant getting oil up to my neck which then got into my hair.

I am sooo sore this morning from the massage. Im sure it did some good and felt lovely at the time but I am walking around like an old woman this morning!

@thebabessavedme that made me laugh. I would be mortified if I had a facial in the village I live and had to walk home (I'm impressed you could run!). You can bet I would meet someone I knew!
