IS this acceptable to wear

hi, im going to a party in a couple of weeks, really looking forward to it

my marriage has broke up and i havent been out in years and so am clueless about fashion etc.

im size 16 bottom and 18 top.

i was thinking of wearing some 3/4 length trousers, they are nice and dressy up type, a v-necked or wrap top but cos its cold can i wear some sparkly or patterned tights under the trousers and wear high heels?

i dont want to look like a dogs dinner, loads of people i havent seen for years will be there!!!!

I think boots would look better with the 3/4 length trousers tbh,but am no expert.

Hmm, I think 3/4 length trousers look great in summer with tanned legs, gold thong / Roman sandals and painted nails. But I don't like them in winter.

am used to slobbing around in horror tracky bottoms and jeans and because i havent been allowed a life this past 7 years i want this to be jenks "debuntante" party!!!!!!

i havent got a clue about shoes except to say that i cant wear very high heels, my trousers are black but i could buy some long length ones and i havent bought the top yet, i have big boobs DD cup and im size 18 top, if it was up to me it would be all black black black!!!!!

I went to a very glam party the other day and needed a new dress. I purposefully didn't buy black because I wanted to stand out from the crowd and have fun - I bought a white gold dress and it was FAB.

Anna, (sorry OP, off topic) but your dress sounds interesting what style & where did you get it?

It's hard to tell on the picture, because the dress has a very particular cut. It's much brighter in real life - and not quite as short.

I also bought a large ethnic type Marni bracelet to wear with it. And want a burnished gold Marni bag for Christmas to complete the outfit.

I wore opaque black tights and very high, (very old black Prada shoes because I can't walk let alone dance in Marni shoes.

i have a pal who can pull off winter capris.

BUT, she thin as a rake and she wears them with high boots with 4 in. heels i couldn't even stand up in.

i'm a 14 on bottom and there's no way you'd catch me in capris at all.

agree with expat - 3/4 can cut you in half and make you look bigger.
I'd go for long lengnth trousers with a top that doesn't have to much detail around the bust or it will make your boobs appear even bigger. (can you tell I watched 'How to Look Good Naked' last night?!
