What's the most you've spent on a cut and colour?

Decided to try out a new local salon, and as I have never been charged more than about £60, and that was at toni and guy, I assumed it would be about the same.
£90! For foils and a cut and blow dry!
And they kept me waiting for 15 mins while they finished their staff meeting in the middle of the shop, which consisted of them discussing where they were going for their staff party. Then the owner had the cheek to point out the local business award they had just won.

It wasn't even that good either.

So what's the most you've spent?

£60 something I think.

yaddayule · 28/11/2007 11:41

£325 (plus tip)
In my defence it was with Louise Galvin (of Daniel Galvin) and she was fabulous (dahhhhling) and it was taken from my last ever pay packet before I started being a SAHM

Stares despondently at roots

Sigh

in my more frivoulous and money laden past I used to spend £120/ month on getting my hair done. now i to think of that as i am lucky i i get a £5 dye from Boots!!

snowleopard · 28/11/2007 11:41

The one I go to is £118 if I go for the full highlights and cut

But I sometimes just have the cut, and only do the expensive version 2 or 3 times a year. I think it's worth it because she's very good, and as I rarely go out now, don't smoke, drink less etc etc I justify it to myself...

Lazarou · 28/11/2007 11:44

I wouldnt have minded so much if the salon had been really really good and they hadn't left me sitting there like a lemon for 15 mins.

At the spa where I go my cut, half head highlights and a blow dry is £80 - £100 depending on who does it. It is probably even more with the very top stylist. ast time mine was £100. But it was enjoyable, sat there with feet up, drinking a cocktail, eating nibbles and playing on the internet as my colours took.

I haven't had them done for months though.

rey · 28/11/2007 11:44

£70 and now I hate it!

Letsgo · 28/11/2007 11:44

About £100 every 6 weeks - always makes me cringe but I just convince myself that I'm worth it

It is a great cut and colour though

Lazarou · 28/11/2007 11:46

local business award my ass, definitely something dodgy about that

£85 but can only afford it avery 6 months!

ska · 28/11/2007 11:49

£115 but rarely these days - makes me feel sick thinking about it!

I said it's a great cut and colour but I just realised that sounds really cocky. What I should have said is that it's a good cut and colour for me. My hair tends to have a life of it's own and look ok for two hours after I've been to the hairdresser and then look terrible until I go again. I suffer with terrible hair envy

Blu · 28/11/2007 11:58

Toni&Guy in London is about £100 for tint and cut.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 28/11/2007 12:11

I always go to Toni & Guy and have excellent highlights and cut for about £80.
I recently went to a local salon where the very disinterested stylist gave me the hardest and unflattering poorly done colour I have ever had. It cost me £75 for a hard base colour (of a burgundy hue - nice) and about 6 foils of yellow on top. I looked a sight. That was my most expensive haircut/colour.

Anna8888 · 28/11/2007 12:12

On a cut - about £130 (but several years ago).

On a cut and colour together - about £160.

scorpio1 · 28/11/2007 12:13

£130 every 8 weeks or so.

yes, i know, but lovely salon and i always feel a million dollars when i finish!

just spent 130 quid -- but that did involved a bleach wash first to get rid of the old dye so I could go lighter... worth it...

tyaca · 28/11/2007 20:18

£160 for full head and cut. worth every penny as finally found stylists i rate.

BUT am following in footsteps of yaddayule and SAHM'ing from jan, so expensive haircuts no longer an option

i can top my £160 c&c costs tho', i have mrs mop esque curls and frizz and used to pay £300 a pop for to get permanently straightened using fancy japanse technology -- once i started, i couldn't stop. even tho' it was permanent, had to keep fighting my frizzy roots....
