I've been gardening all day with no gloves on.My hands are stained black from all the weeds & look dreadful.Can anyone reccomend anything to shift the stains or will I have to wear gloves all evening.

black? what sort of weeds were you weeding?

If it's like potato dirt lard will get it off

If it's like walnut dirt nothing will get it off (sorry - time works but it takes weeks)

Salt mixed with the juice of a lemon and scrub, scrub, scrub....it will come out.

You should then probably apply masses of handcream

Thankyou.Have all these ingredients at home,so will spend the rest of the day trying them.Good suggestion AnticodCod,but I have got sole charge of the dd's all afternoon & I don't think they'd be allowed in a sauna.

southeastastra-alchemilla,dandelions,geraniums,all in the wrong places & needing removing.It is astounding the number of plants that will dye you strange colours or give you a rash!
