It used to be that GHDs were the Rolls Royce of hair straighteners...

Cloud 9’s are far better!

Chesneyhawkes1 · 26/07/2021 10:39

Ditched mine for Cloud 9's too

Sorry to jump in on your thread op, but can I ask what do the pp’s find makes Cloud 9 better? I’m quite happy with my ghd’s but they are fairly old now and will need replacing sometime soon I expect

SoupDragon · 26/07/2021 10:44

Cloud 9 was started by the original owner of GHD.

I’ve switched to the GHD glide. I have thick wavy hair and it’s brilliant. Makes it look blow dried and shiny rather than totally straight which I prefer.

Italiandreams · 26/07/2021 11:03

Love my cloud 9’s , a definite convert.

Froppysue · 26/07/2021 11:05

Switched to Cloud 9s here too.. they’re quicker to straighten, hair feels silkier and the straightness lasts longer too.

Ivy48 · 26/07/2021 11:09

I think so. GHD or cloud 9 are then best options. The founder of Cloud 9 is actually one of the founders of GHD so they’re quite similar. My sister has cloud 9s and I have GHD, I don’t notice much difference but both are fab

Original GHDs were amazing.

I got the Cloud 9 ones for my birthday last year and I hated them. They didn't grip the hair as well so the sections would fall out of the plates mid-curl, the plates got draggy and sticky really quickly despite regular cleaning and they left my hair frizzy rather than smoothly wavy iyswim.

Have since replaced with £25 Remington straighteners from Argos and they're infinitely better. Sold the Cloud 9s on eBay.

I've waved my hair every day with straighteners for years so it isn't user error before anyone suggests that 😄.
