How to get 'beach style' curls to de-frizz / last / define??

Saw a gorgeous young woman in town yesterday with perfect 'beach' waves ever so slightly dreadlocked.

My hair definitely has potential and I can achieve this if left in a plait when damp overnight / for a day.

But it's frizzy and prob won't last very long.

What sort of product / routine do I need to try to protect the wave, de-frizz a bit so that it looks more 'stuck together with salt water'?!?

I’m interested in this - I’ve realised belatedly in life my hair has a pronounced wave if I let it do its thing. I’m using Merwave products (shampoo, conditioner, protein treatment, foam, gel) which gives it a lovely lasting wave but the frizz remains a problem.

I haven't found much difference between cheap and expensive so just use Creightons curl cream and free frizz stuff, v cheap from Home Bargains. Here's my hair second day, bit of frizz but i really need a trim so that's not helping.

Forgot to mention shampoo and conditioner, the Garnier hair food ones with coconut and shea butter.
My hair is a bit thin at the moment as i had major hair loss lady year, think it was caused by lockdown stress, so I have a lot of short hairs trying to spring through the long ones!

Sorry about typos, rushing a bit.

Join a curly girl/ wavy girl group on Facebook. Many woman post photos, you’ll likely see someone who had similar type hair to yourself and see what her routine is. There are so many products and techniques. Mainly not using sulphites and silicones, applying product when hair is soaking wet, a combination of mouse and gel, then diffuse drying, and scrunching out the crunch when completely dry.

Yes, i learnt a lot from curly girl sites, it was a lockdown project for me.

I wash and condition then spray on leave in conditioner and then leave to dry naturally.
Once dry I grab handfuls of curls and kind of scrunch in John Frieda frizz ease.

Thank you - anything that's going to take effort and dedication might not be the route for me Grin but putting some scrunch Frizz Ease in sounds ok!! I'll hang around some curly girl places too and see if their enthusiasm will rub off on me!

If you are on Tiktok there is a girl called sophiemariecurly who has some brilliant advice on separating curls and making them non-stringy which would work well for waves too.

Garnier hair food.
Game changer for long way hair.
