No middle ground between love island and Bon marche

Hello ladies,

I am going you can help, I just can't seem to find my style home, it's either very young/ under boob love island or very neural/ bland and fully covered in the shops and on line.

I am 38, athletic with big boobs (size 10) and I just can't find nice tops to go with jeans or nice shorts. I feel a bit lost in a sense of style.

Where do you all shop?

Try ASOS oasis and silkfred

Uniqlo (particularly their collabs) and h&m are my reliable go tos

Is silkfred ok? I've had things from the online sights like boohoo before and it was a very hit and miss

I’ve also fallen in love with Whistles and Hobbs now I’m mid-30s. Otrium has some good offers on higher priced high street beans including these.

I really like Matalan! I’m 26 and it’s a nice middle ground there. I like their sports wear and a few bits for work.

Mint velvet/hush have some nice things I have lots of their jeans and hush t shirts. Oasis js nice but too, H&M/Zara Sainsbury’s Tu have some lovely things too if you have one nearby. Next have their own stuff but lots of brands online. Boden? I would not buy my whole wardrobe from them but some is really nice. Fatface? Superdry has some nice tops too.

So I totally get this problem. I think that even the shops aimed at my age group (35+) there's a tendency to produce young, trendy stuff that's pretty unwearable (for me at least) - too clingy, too revealing for my tastes. I also think that lots of brands produce soooo much in their collections that one has to trawl through so much dross before finding a gem. My only solution is to pick a few brands that produce clothes that fit/suit your body type & that you like the style of and start there. Personally I found that focusing my search in this way helped me from getting overwhelmed. Then once I'd got a feel for what I liked, I could search more effectively on other site, for specific items, say a silk shirt, or whatever.

I am on a low spend year (one top bought so far) and to be honest it’s not been that difficult as half my go to shops seem to have either disappeared or been bought by Boohoo (worst fast fashion practices ever).

My top is from Benetton. I also like Mango, H&M, Hush, Vero Moda and Esprit.

I also like Brakeburn for summer stuff. Some really nice dresses, shorts & shoes
