Shein clothing.. Is it worth it?

Thoughts on Shein clothing? Been wanting to get a few things but worried about sizing. I'm a UK size 12 in top and bottom. Is it worth the money? What is the quality like?

OP posts:

So heartened by this thread. "Is Shein okay" comes up every 2-4 weeks on S&B and so often a poster will rightly reply that it's unethical and shite only to be shot down by someone claiming that there is "always someone" and the clothes are actually "fine" and their 16 year old daughter has bought loads of bikinis and they are great .. Hmm Anyway, do a google. I'm sure the Shein marketing ppl use mn as the other shitty brands dont have half as many posts.

I ordered a couple of cheap tops to see op!

I'm pleasantly surprised. Washed well and ok quality wise.

Most places are 'unethical' somewhere along the line

Shadowboy · 21/07/2021 12:24

Isn’t it shein that sold swastika necklaces and then Muslim prayer mats as decoration?

Anything that cheap is bound to be made unethically both environmentally and in human terms. They need shutting down.

Agree with your last sentence, I think because Shein was one of the first "shitty brand" (know exactly what you mean there!) they have been the first to achieve a veneer of (some) respectability, first by renaming from SheInside (which sounds like the crappy Chinese brand is it) and then by becoming big enough to have the glossy website and advertise heavily in the West. Others like Romwe and Chicwish which were also around early haven't - I guess Shein has taken over the market.

That makes it ok then I guess? would you rather buy from a brand that is 100% definitely extremely disgustingly unethical like Shein, or one that probably has some unethical practices "somewhere along the line" like H&M? Hmm They're all exactly the same right...

Yes that was them.

Bought 3 dresses all going back. Badly made, fit us wrong. Terrible quality

I don’t understand the willful ignorance here…
