I want to buy ME+EM but annoyed at Euro conversion

I've been looking at a couple of things on ME+EM, a dress & a blouse. But the euro mark up is horrific. The blouse is £125 and when I go to pay it becomes €175! The dress is even worse.
I know there are some extra charges due to Brexit but even allowing for that PLUS exchange rate this seems extortionate
I'd like to pay in sterling & let the bank do the conversion at point of paying but I don't seem to have that option
Is anyone else finding these ridiculous markups off putting?

I'm confused - isn't Me and Em in the UK ?

OP is in the EU, not sure what's confusing about that.

Selfridge's carry the brand, OP*, and you can pay in pounds there or get a decent conversion rate anyhow. They take care of all taxes and import fees at checkout. Hope the things you want are on there and less ridiculously priced. The annual shipping fee is well worth the investment if you're buying more than once a year there.

Yes ME+EM is in the UK
I'm not. On other websites you have the option to pay in the currency of the website or use the website conversion rate. Whistles allows me to pay in sterling & my bank uses the most up to date exchange rate which invariably works out better for me than just paying the euro rate set by whistles

The euro mark up on ME+EM is very very high

Thank you so much @botemp that's really really helpful. I'll take a look at Selfridges & hopefully they'll have the 2 things I'm interested in!
