Frizzy, thick, coarse, long greying hair. What can I do?

I’ve currently got it in long layers. Not yet ready to embrace the grey so I have it highlighted and dyed every couple of months. I use expensive products which are no help at all. It just look like a dried out frizzy bush all the time and it’s really making me feel crappy. Don’t know what to do. Please help me!

Pay for a Japanese keratin straightening treatment?

I have similar hair and it definitely is harder to handle now it's started greying (I'm 39). I'm determined that when I'm older and might be able to afford it I'm going to blast the hell out of it so my life is simpler

I have found Philip Kingsley elasticiser used regularly is better than keratin blow dry

A good cut, and regular donations to the blessed St John of Frieda for his frizzease gel.

What hairstyle do you recommend?

I have a slightly below chin length bob, cut in shorter at the back , I like it just long enough so I can push it back into a stubby pony when I need to. Naturally curly but keep it straight.

I also recommend a keratin treatment. I have foils (lowlights) three or four times a year and they can leave my white/grey/blonde hair coarse and dry. I tried Opalex which was useless.
I have recently gone back to having a keratin treatment a few weeks after each colour. This is the salon treatment where I cannot wash my hair for about 72 hours afterwards; so I get it on a Friday morning so I can wash my hair before work on a Monday. My hair is beautifully smooth and shiny for 3-4 months afterwards. I need very little heat treatment (straightening irons for example) or product, so all round, my hair is considerably more healthy.
