Avène Trixéra. Available in good Boots. You need this for face and body.

littlerach · 22/11/2007 19:01

If it is dehydrated, try drinking a lot more water. Then it works form the inside out, if you see what I mean?

pirratePiggy · 22/11/2007 19:04

piggy, I have name changed temporarilly for the Muppet thing going on here. Just till December 1st.!!!

Yes u r right with the re hydration inside out. Have bee terrible at drinking water for months, and also the central heating is justnot helping.

I had a Clarins facial on Tues and beautician (a friend) says you only reallyneed to spend money on a good night cream - and that routine is more important than product.

How about the blue L'Oreal night cream? Ultra-lift, I think it is.

Or ask for Clarins for Xmas?

pirratePiggy · 22/11/2007 19:11

really? I shall go to A Boots soon, i mean a proper on with more than two aisles (as in my town).

Yet night cream could be the way. I have also re established my cleansing routine. I ALWAYS have good intentions, but let it slide after about 3 days.

yep - she says a thorough cleanse, tone, moisturise (the cleanse and tone bit can be whatever non-pricey stuff you want) and then as good a moisturiser as you can afford. And really massage well, that helps a lot. Oh, and she also said make sure to exfoliate once a week at least in this cold weather as that really helps.

she is amazing beauty therapist - I looked about 15 years younger after my facial on Tuesday, skin was lush.

ClaphamLauren · 22/11/2007 19:14

Presume it was the hydra balance/thirst quenching cream lotion/cream?

I can get you one for a third cheaper if it's the one you really like and it then starts to become affordable?

Anna8888 · 22/11/2007 19:15

pirratePiggy - really, Avène is TOPS for very dry skin. Try it (give your local Boots a ring first to check they stock it, if not I'll send you some from France ).

dinny · 22/11/2007 19:15

and she says in the morning you can just splash face with cold water or toner and put on a day cream, if you've done good routine the night before.

pirratePiggy · 22/11/2007 19:22

hey clapham, we meet again. I look about 70 atm !!!! my skin has changed so much in the past 2 yrs, i am now 38 (sniff).

well i have the cleanser and toner from the age defying range at boots. both mild.

do you possibly think i have made my skin worse by using a cheap as chips exfoliator the ast 3 days -----BIG oops, what a nob I am, after reading what s been said here about exfoliating.

i remember there was an orange smelling one I used to have a few yr back from Clarins it was lovely. Must find it.

I'm with Anna, Avene really is amazing stuff.I love it. You can get it in all big branches of Boots and it's really not that expensive.

pirratePiggy · 23/11/2007 08:03

I personally love Eucerin products, they contain urea which really hydrates your skin very well.

I have v. dry skin and get eczema, and do well with Eucerin face creams and the Clarins citrus exfoliator (but only once a week!!).

totaleclipse · 23/11/2007 09:08

Water, and lots of it, dont gulp it down else it does'nt do the job, make a pint of water last 2 hours, a few sips here and there, and drink 4 pints a day.
