I'm in the middle of losing weight, what jeans shall I get?

Gone from size 16 to 14, aiming for 12. Need to be one cheap pair to last for a couple of months. What would you get? More fashionable cropped straight leg or indigo skinnies to cover all occasions temporarily? Must be high waisted. I'm 5 foot 6.

Well done on your weight loss! I would probably go for a straight leg, ankle skimming pair that I could put a belt on as they got a bit bigger. I find that unless skinny jeans are exactly the right size they feel like they're falling down the second you lose a bit of weight. I really like Gap jeans and you can get some good bargains if you have an outlet store near you.

I got a pair of primark jeans when I lost weight and was at midway stage. Although mostly I wore elastic waist skirts which were more flexible.

I’ve gone from a size 18 to a 12 and hoping to go down to a 10.
I have bought quite a lot of stuff from charity shops, you can get pairs of jeans for £2! I find it’s a perfect solution for when you are doing weightoss.

You could get something from eBay to tied you over, get a brand you know fits you. When I was losing weight post baby I got a pair of new look jeans half way from the same rail.
Well done!

Hrrr SALE rail

Sooverthemill · 26/06/2021 20:44

Oh I would go for cropped straight.

HiHoSylvie · 26/06/2021 21:30

I'd go straight leg, definitely, because I only wear my skinnies once in a blue moon these days. They really aren't an 'every occasion' cut for me, as I only wear them when it's utterly Baltic and I put them under knee boots to keep out the wind and rain.

Also I find straight leg can look good a bit loose fitting and I actually keep two pairs in different sizes for this reason. The tighter pair are for when I want something more fitted and the looser pair for when I want something baggy.

I find stretchy jeggings good for when your size varies.

I find M&S Lily more flattering than skinnies.

sainsbury straight leg, high waist. Cheap and straight leg is easier to wear when they get loose

M&S Harper
