Significant birthday necklace

It's a very big birthday for me in a few months' time. I struggle to wear jewellery but fancy a nice diamond pendant. I don't go out anywhere, so I'd like it to be nice but not too fancy for everyday. Not poor, just don't do much!

Anyone had one made? Or can recommend a nice maker? TIA.

I’d look into lab diamonds. DH bought me a solitaire necklace for a significant birthday and was able to get a a larger stone for about 25% less than a mined diamond.

www.graysantiques.com/ is fantastic for vintage jewellery. With white diamonds I'd always go for white gold or platinum and spend on colour before anything else. Colour and clarify are what makes a diamond sparkle :-D (cut also important but less so IMO).
