Please recommend me a flattering blusher!

Hi,

Just that really. I have a quite fair, neutral skin tone, but I don't seem to suit blusher at all. I used to just think that it's simply a product that's not for me and I quite liked to embrace the pale anyway.

However, since hitting my mid 30's, I desperately need some life and colour injecting into my skin.

Thing is, I look good with my natural glow/blush, but can't ever seem to be able to replicate it.

Pinky tones don't seem to suit me at all. I suspect reddy tones probably look better on me, but I'm scared of that doll face effect Blush

Also don't know whether to go for powder or cream blush.

TIA

What foundation shade do you wear OP, what colour are your hair and eyes?

The glossier cloud paints or similar blendable liquid/cream blushes are good and buildable. I have a neutral but pretty pale skin tone and all the online articles suggest a very pale pink but it does nothing for me. I get on better with taupey rose or apricot shades, or the more burgundy tones applied lightly.

As soon as I read the OP, I knew that it would go like this:

OP: I don’t suit pink toned blusher.

Replies: Get Benefit Dandelion!

(Which, for the avoidance of doubt, is a pink blusher)

I am also very wary of blusher but tried Hourglass recently and I really like it. More than I would usually spend but I look better for it!

HeraInTheHereAndNow · 24/06/2021 23:17

@Iamthewombat… I find Dandelion a “yellow” pink on me. Not sure why. Just doesn’t suit me. I need bluish pinks. Hard to find.

@mashpot I agree. If you find something that works, buy it. If you’re able. I’ve wasted so much money thinking I’m making a saving.

NARS orgasm! Suits all skin tones. Feel a bit of a weirdo asking for it in a shop, mind!

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 25/06/2021 16:22

I’m another fan of NARS orgasm.

I love Nars exhibit A - it looks TERRIFYING in the pan but it just sort of gives me a flushed look. Check out reviews so the pan colour doesn’t put you off!
I’m very pale, blue veins, lean slightly ruddy I think but that blush makes me feel like I look great! Pinker tones make me look more yellowy

I bought this , it's got three shades so depends on what the brush picks up.

Another here recommending Nars Orgasm but in the liquid blush.
I absolutely love it.
