I think I fancy having this done as my xmas present from DP. Can anyone recommend it? How much did it cost and how did they do it? Where do you find a good surgery?

I had a quote from my hygienist and it was 800 quid

that included drilling out two front teeth and replacing the knackered enamel

The basic was £400 - but then you had to go back every 6-12 months!

It seemed like a LOT to me

I paid about £200 for a system where you wore whitening trays overnight. Took 2-3 weeks I think but not too sure as I had to keep missing nights due to the awful sensitivity it caused. I had been told it could cause a bit of sensitivity but not the acute pain that I suffered and afterwards found out wasn't that uncommon. One of the girls who worked at the dentists had so much pain that she needed the dentist to inject her mouth with anaesthetic - she only told me this after I had started to suffer myself. Not saying it would be as bad for you, but just something to bear in mind - I definitely wouldn't recommend you do it over Christmas !! There is a system called Zoom where they whiten your teeth with lasers {I think } - don't know if it also can cause sensitivity but might be worth considering.

I've just done mine in preparation for my front teeth (crowns) being replaced. Am v impressed and happy with the results - very white teeth now.

Mine's a Smile surgery - I paid £200 for it - that was using the custom-made trays with a gel.
