Birthday bag help

I’m looking for help finding a bag for DH to get me for my birthday. Budget up to £500, crossbody, larger than a camera bag but smaller than a Coach Hobo (approx 20cm x 20cm or thereabouts). Prefer navy, burgundy or oxblood, with minimal bling/logos. Here are a few I have seen, what do you think?

@DialSquare it’s nice, but too similar to my Coach hobo to justify buying it.

@frustratedwiththepandemic it is good value but I’m wondering if I like it more just because of that and if it was full price I would discount it

@bendmeoverbackwards I do like her bags, I found this one too which would suit but she just doesn’t do my colours!

@bendmeoverbackwards the one thing that puts me off the Anthony is the lack of lining and internal pockets - does everything just slide around together?

So... I couldn’t picture the difference in size between the standard and small Anthony so I made paper models of them (whilst DH and DDog watched on in disbelief). The small looks like it might be ok, but I’m not sure if you can get a mini iPad in it, can anyone who has one confirm either way?

OP I'd go and look at them in store if you're able to. It's more about what room there is inside. I like a small bag but the small Antony would definitely be too small for me to use as an every day bag.

@chocolatesaltyballs22 ideally I want to do that but the downside is I’m in deepest, darkest Shropshire, the nearest store is the Cheshire Oaks outlet which I don’t think will have them. I guess I could wait until I’m up in Scotland seeing family but that means my birthday present will be six weeks late ( if we haven’t locked down again)

I have a large Muberry Anthony and it's lasted really well, still looks quite new, but I do find it a bit boxy. I also have 2 Mulberry Morgan cross body bags and they're a nicer shape, softer, rounded but I don't think Mulberry make them anymore.

As you live in Shropshire, is it feasible for you to travel to Ludlow? There's a fabulous shop in Ludlow town centre, he makes all of the bags/purses/accessories. You can have a custom made bag to your own specification and it will cost less than Mulberry and it's made in England, which is important to some people, rather than pay top dollar for something that's been made in China.

Ah I see. I was in Cheshire Oaks last week and I'm sure they had some. Limited colours though. If you call the store they will confirm what they have in stock.

@Clarice99 I’m going to have a good look at that website, Ludlow is less than an hour away, and I can visit all the nice food shops at the same time!

Matt makes bags to order, so if you give him a call I'm sure it won't be a problem for him to make you one in whatever colour you want. You can also choose the colour of the hardware - chrome, brass etc and choose the colour of the lining, if applicable.

I'd definitely recommend a visit to the shop.

@WeeMadArthur the massaccesi bags come in about 100 colors and many different types of leather. You have to browse on the leather selection link I sent, premise is easier some some ways, but there is something about custom that makes it feel very very special.

@blisstwins I must be using the website wrong, I browsed the Shop and if I chose a Grande Penelope the only leather choice that comes up is Pompei, and for Penelope it’s Merino’s. The leather I want is Pebbled Bordeaux. If I follow your link and click on the leather it doesn’t take me on to choose a bag - am I being dim?
