Favourite under eye concealer discontinued - after your recommendations

I've been a long running fan of Clarins instant concealer for my very dark under eye circles. It was the best I'd found at covering them without making lines more prominent (I'm 50 plus).

Seriously irritated to find Clarins no longer make this and that their 'replacement' has poor reviews. So am after your favourites please. What works best for you in terms of good coverage without going all cakey?

The maybelline brush one (dream lumi?) is good.

Fispi · 11/06/2021 17:44

Collection lasting perfection. Shade range is huge, blends nicely with a sponge and works well on my dark circles without sinking into fine lines. I also have bobbi brown corrector which neutralises the dark circles more when I use that underneath but it creases.

Many thanks both. Any other views? Have been looking at what get the highest ratings online - these two do very well.

Haven't used Laura Mercier or Nars but can recommend IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye ( think that's the name). You only need a tiny amount and the coverage is great , I am also in 50s and don't find it drying or cakey.

Revolution conceal and define 🤌🏾

hilbil21 · 11/06/2021 22:29

I used the old clarins one for my rosacea and the new one isn't quite as creamy but still good! I would give it a go and see what you think lol Smile

I’m
Not sure any are good

Squiz81 · 11/06/2021 22:33

Maybelline instant anti-age eye concealer.

Howzaboutye · 11/06/2021 22:42

Benefit boing that looks like a pencil is good. V thin but coverage is amazing

I didn’t like the nars one at all but others really do - you can buy a trial size at space nk but only in something like vanilla which might be helpful.
Thinnerlikeachickendinner · 12/06/2021 07:40

Might NOT be helpful.

Tarte Shape Tape is amazing (although it is a bit expensive and you can only buy online)

It IS amazing and the custom kit deal is on this Tuesday! 6 full-size products for about £45, if you like tarte then it’s a steal.

Not the Charlotte Tilbury foam applicator one; the Mac one with a little pump is good however I have just discovered (through buying for my DD) The Ordinary. It’s utterly brilliant and a fiver. Can’t rave about it highly enough (unless you’re going to go down the line of concealers with serum in, in which case I’m listening)

I have bought the NARS concealer a couple of times and am pleased with it. However, I recently purchased this and love it www.beautypie.com/face/concealer/superluminous-under-eye-genius-light-medium

Howzaboutye · 14/06/2021 22:16

Cakelover75 is that beauty pie thing for under concealer or instead of it?

Lira91 · 14/06/2021 23:33

I second revolution conceal and define. The maybelline anti age rewind is full coverage if that's what you're looking for but all of the shades are too ashy for me unfortunately.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 14/06/2021 23:35

Aldi does a dupe Touche Eclat. You have to stock up when it's in though as it comes and goes.

Howzaboutye · 15/06/2021 00:19

What's the Aldi dupe like? What tone is the palest one?

Yes, I have this one too and I LOVE it. Doesn’t sit in fine lines like I found Touch Eclat and the Clinique equivalent did. I apply it with a brush (this one: www.ilmakiage.com/uk/face/brushestools/212-70140-concealer-blending-brush-140 ) and it looks very natural rather than caking.

Sorry, to clarify, it’s the Beauty Pie one that is doing it for me (I’ve not tried the NARS)

Hi, it’s supposed to be a colour corrector but I find it does the job on its on. I’m pale skinned so don’t know if that makes a difference?
Frolickingfoam · 15/06/2021 20:15

Nars creamy concealer is my forever product

WobblyLondoner · 04/07/2021 15:47

Thanks all. Update - I'm giving the NARS a try but am slightly worried I've got too light a colour. I got a demo in the shop and it looked fine but at home it looks a bit too pale.

Irrespective of the colour I've got very dark under eye bags (genetic, my dad had the same) and suspect if I want better coverage I need to use one of those colour corrector things as well as a concealer.

I've also bought some of these Pixi eye patches, following a rave review on another thread. Very weird texture but a nice start to a lazy Sunday!!

Love the Nars, good choice. It is hard to choose a shade though.
