Dress for elderly mother for funeral

Please help! I need to find something for my mother to wear to a funeral next week. I have 101 things to do and I really don't know where to start with this as my initial attempts didn't bring up anything suitable.

She's about 5 foot, size 14, doesn't want black or navy. If someone could give me a clue as to where to look I'd be incredibly grateful.

My mother liked the petite ranges of brands like Eastex and Fenn Wright Manson or Jacques Vert. John Lewis certainly stock FWM, and we have a small independent department store near us that has the others.

How about something like this with a black pashmina?

My mum is 5 foot & size 14! She's 72.
She doesn't do online shopping so has to stick with what's in our local mall.
She gets pretty midi length dresses (which end up more maxi on her so she sometimes shortens them). Or tiered floral long skirts with plain tops.
From our local Next, M&S, Tu at Sainsbury, Monsoon, even H&M.
Either of these looks (dress / or long skirt & top) would be suitable for a colourful summer funeral.

Ps mum finds that many actual petite ranges tend to only fit women who are petite all over, not just in height.

John Lewis would be a good place to look as the have lots brands in one place

Have you tried sainsburys? I know it's hardly couture, but plenty of styles, easy to return, doesn't cost a lot.

I always think elderly ladies look very elegant at funerals in a simple, plain, well tailored shift dress. They usually add a broach to finish it off stylishly. No idea what colour if she doesn't want black/navy.

Would she wear grey or purple?

Can she get to a John Lewis, or buy on line?

It's just my mum's stipulation. There are only going to be two (extended) families at the funeral so no real need to do anything for others, but she wants to wear something nice for our friend, to honour his life.
