Dior nail glow

My nails look crap. Dior nail glow gets rave reviews for giving an instant polished look without the effort. I love the idea but I don't love the price so much.
Could anyone recommend cheaper alternatives or is this one of those products that has no decent dupe?

I think Catrice has some sort of dupe.
They discontinue products all the time though, so I would check their website.

Rimmel Nail Nurse

FionaMacCool · 07/06/2021 14:39

As previous poster says, Rimmel Nail Nurse is good.
Essie Sugar Daddy - one coat is a very light translucent pink.

I've tried these, but the Dior is something that I re-buy. A bottle lasts me around 6 months, that's redoing my nails around twice a week.

BigButtons · 07/06/2021 14:42

@FionaMacCool thanks. Is the Dior very pink on? I have had a little at images and it seems to vary. Is the nail nurse translucent/clear to does it have a tinge.
The Essie looks lovely.

There's also a pink Sally Hansen treatment that is a lovely translucent pink.

Nahhh · 07/06/2021 14:57

The dior one is fab. I’ve not found a dupe but I think it’s really worth the money.

BigButtons · 07/06/2021 15:10

@JaneJeffer thanks is that the 7 in 1 one?

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 07/06/2021 15:19

It's the maximum growth one @BigButtons

suckingonchillidogs · 07/06/2021 15:28

The more coats you put on of the Dior one the pinker it gets

JackieTheFart · 07/06/2021 15:48

I really hate the pink tint of the Rimmel one (which i assume will be the same as the Dior one). It makes my nails look weird as fuck.

I prefer Orly BB creme as the colour works better for me, it’s also not as shiny which I personally like when I’m going for a low-key natural look!

BigButtons · 07/06/2021 17:53

Thanks everyone. I am investigating all your recommendationsSmile

I bought the nail glow and really recommend. Dries so quickly and hard wearing too.

Marcipex · 07/06/2021 21:53

I was looking at this. I wasn’t sure if it was a treatment or just a glossy pink.

Amortentia · 07/06/2021 23:47

@JaneJeffer

There's also a pink Sally Hansen treatment that is a lovely translucent pink.
I use this, it's called Rosy Quartz. It's very good, easy to apply and sheer. it makes my nails look much more polished.
winched · 08/06/2021 11:43

I recently discovered "Nail Magic" after reading some good reviews about it so I'm 1 week into the treatment (it's on Amazon).

I find it less pink and more subtle than Rimmel Nail Nurse, and quite excited to see if does anything for my prone to breaking off nails.

The essie one is brill - there are a few colours but as @FionaMacCool said sugar daddy is lovely

PersonaNonGarter · 08/06/2021 21:57

I love Essie Mademoiselle. It’s milkier than most of the ones already mentioned but one coat and my nails look instantly chicer.

WokeFest · 09/06/2021 08:29

I know Dior nail varnish is expensive but now I don't buy any other. I've settled on having about 5 nail colours, including Dior Glow, and sticking at that.

halfgirlhalfturnip · 09/06/2021 08:36

I don't find it worth the money - doesn't last on me and the colour is more purple.

BigButtons · 09/06/2021 10:00

Purple?😲

It looks pinker outside, more natural indoors. But one coat would lessen the effect.

FionaMacCool · 09/06/2021 16:23

I find that the Dior does tend to read a bit neon if I am lazy and dont clean off chipped varnish layer more than 2 coats.
At one coat, it's barely reads as anything more than a standard clear polish. But at 2 coats, it's got a subtle nail brightening effect.

Jayneisagirlsname · 09/06/2021 17:01

The Dior is well worth it. I put 2 coats on and my nails have that lovely tint you get inside sea shells

WokeFest · 09/06/2021 17:13

Have you seen any of the Dior Abricot range? I have the nail and cuticle moisturiser in the round pot. It’s divine. I have the rest of the line on my wish list. Their is a varnish called White Snow which looks lovely too, although maybe too pale for me.

My favourite all time lipstick is Dior Glow. It just brings out your natural lips.

So with your Dior Glow nail varnish, what’s your process? I’ve only ever just done one coat on
It’s own so not got the best out of it. Do I need to do base coat, couple of layers of glow, then topcoat?
