is eyelid surgery the only way to fix this?

Fixeye · 07/06/2021 13:25

My eyes are quite hooded and downturned but it's much worse on one eye. It makes me feel awful tbh.

Would non-surgical eye lid lift fix it? I wouldn't evenknow where to begin so any advice appreciated!

Sorry that this is affecting you and making you feel awful. It’s very normal, most people have uneven eyelids. I believe surgery would be the only way to change it.

Watchingthetelly · 07/06/2021 13:29

I know I'm not answering the question you asked but your eyes look fine to me and there isn't a big variation between them. They're a good size, even and a nice colour. I wouldn't be messing with them, they are good as they are.

BlackSwan · 07/06/2021 13:34

I've had eyelid surgery, so coming at this from a point of experience...
Your eyes look great. I don't think there's anything to correct.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/06/2021 13:41

I've recently had Non Surgical Brephroplasty, my eyes were double lidded and very wrinkled. Yours bear no comparison to mine. You really don't need it.

IslandLulu · 07/06/2021 13:41

You have beautiful eyes. I can't see anything wrong with them.

Ohyesiam · 07/06/2021 13:44

Look at exercises for hooded eyes on YouTube. There’s loads and they work

Ohyesiam · 07/06/2021 13:44

Ps, your eyes are fine btw

Fixeye · 07/06/2021 13:45

I do think it looks much worse, more obvious, in real life. Especially when I'm smiling because it all scrunches up and droops even more. It's also getting worse as I get older.

Thank you for the advice so far.

Beetlebrooker · 07/06/2021 13:46

Ah mine look like that too - optician said I have one aperture smaller than the other! Mine is due to Duane's Syndrome, I have a faulty muscle in one eye and it doesn't move properly from left to right.

I went through a phase of thinking it was really obvious and everyone noticed it, but they really don't! People just see YOU. Flowers

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 07/06/2021 13:55

I've hooded lids too, OP it's especially a ball ache when you put makeup in the mix and I end up with it all smudged on top. Confused

I think yours are lovely though and not really noticeable. They're a gorgeous shape.

Gonegrey31 · 07/06/2021 14:47

I think you look just lovely as you are

OlivesTree · 07/06/2021 15:08

If I had your eyes I would be very happy with them and wouldn’t be considering the surgery that I am currently thinking about.

I bet they don’t look worse in RL. Photos, video calls etc. make them look loads worse as the camera lens is far more sensitive than people’s ability to see.

JackieTheFart · 07/06/2021 15:51

How old are you? Because you look very young to me, and if you’re feeling this self conscious now then you’ll feel worse when you get older. My hooded eyes are much worse!

I say this because no one but you notices this, I promise you. I actually think if you had an eye lift it would look too obvious as your skin is still elastic and ‘plump’.

Please love yourself more Flowers

Seaoftroubles · 07/06/2021 16:37

Your eyes are beautiful, in colour and in shape.

Fixeye · 07/06/2021 17:56

I'm in my 30's. The skin touches my eyelashes when I frown or smile.

Thank you for being kind to me.
Maybe I'm just focusing on the eye because it seems like the easiest and cheapest thing to fix on my whole face haha

Goodness me op your eyes look perfectly lovely! If they really bother you so much though why not try those little double sided sticker things before considering surgery though, you might realise that you don’t need to ‘fix’ your eyes at all Smile

Would you recommend?

Thoughts on it?
Brizzle1991 · 07/06/2021 18:13

Botox will help this. Best way to avoid eyelid surgery👍I know a few people who’ve done this when they were incredibly close to having surgery and over time a doctor reversed the need. I have Botox and am amazed at the lift it give my eyelids and brows to open them up ( so long as you use a medically qualified practitioner with a good reputation and explain your concerns)

MozzchopsThirty · 07/06/2021 18:14

Your eyes are beautiful but if it bothers you, you could try a good Botox aesthetic practitioner who may be able to lift your brows slightly

Do not get it done by anyone though, it needs a specialist

I have my hooded eyes lifted slightly with Botox every 4 months, leaves me looking less cross lol

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/06/2021 19:03

@Sometimesfraught82

EXTREMELY painful, done with Plasma Pen, eyes like a defeated boxer for a couple of days each treatment, I think results worth it but I don't have before and after shots. I CANNOT understate the pain though and my threshold is quite high.

Thighdentitycrisis · 07/06/2021 19:21

Sorry OP, I don’t think you have hooded eyes

www.allaboutvision.com/conditions/hooded-eyes/

(and your eyes are lovely and please don’t have surgery)

KatharinaRosalie · 07/06/2021 20:50

I've had eyelid surgery as well, mine looked like yours on the top photos by my late 30s. Very happy, no regrets. No pain either.

Definitely google reviews before you decide to go for plasma pen, there are some threads right here on S&B that are not really positive.

MsMeNz · 07/06/2021 20:53

You have beautiful big eyes mine are tiny and piggy and close set! What I've done though is permanent eyeliner and cat eyeliner at that. Perfect 24/7 makes my eyelook bigger and more upturned.

Also curling eyelashes helps.

However that being said be very very careful playing around with eye area, a tiny knock in wrong place and you end up with permanently droppy (stroke like) eye.

TuvoknotSpock · 07/06/2021 22:24

I have very similar eyes to you and know what you mean it's not that other people see it but you see it on yourself.

You have beautiful eyes btw! I
