I mean something other than flat sandals or trainers..... I have quite square/wide feet and struggle. I have a lovely pair of wedge shoes I want to wear but don’t think I could wear them all day and dance in the heat...

I have some doc martens sandals. They are super comfy and could be worn all day

Loserinlove · 06/06/2021 21:14

What do they look like @thirstyformore?

What sort of festival is it op? If it's Glastonbury-esque, then heels would of any kind would be bonkers imo. I'm guessing it's something a lot naicer than the festivals I've been to!

Loserinlove · 06/06/2021 21:33

It’s a dance festival! I don’t want like heeled sandals you would wear at a bar as it will be on grass, I just wanted something with a bit of a heel as I’m a short arse and if I wear flat hot weather sandals I get paranoid my feet will get trampled! Grin

It’s an event like going to an outdoor nightclub, not camping or like Glastonbury.

StevieKnickerbockerglory · 06/06/2021 22:25

Yes, I've been to those! Is it like Creamfields? That goes on all day and all night. So much fun but my god wear boots or trainers if it's that variety. There's quite a lot of walking on uneven terrain.

I love clothes, so I'm not a "sensible footwear" kind of gal myself, but for raves or anything in a field, I'd not wear heels myself. Maybe die hard heel fans would though.

Maybe flatform trainers? Or boots with a bit of a flatform maybe?

Loserinlove · 07/06/2021 06:17

@StevieKnickerbockerglory yes like that but on a smaller scale! It doesn’t finish too late TF! Grin what kind of trainer? I have seen a couple but no idea what is actually ok to wear without looking like orthopaedic ones (nothing wrong in those for people that need them, just adding!) not sure what to wear? Might go denim mini with a vest top or shorts.... don’t do romper suits they look rubbish on me

StevieKnickerbockerglory · 07/06/2021 08:20

Mini skirt and vest sound ideal! Check weather obviously, as you never know. I also hate rompers as I live in constant fear of the dreaded camel hoof and also you don't want to be undressing for a wee at a festival to be frank!

I'd definitely go closed toe if it's a proper rave, as people do stomp sometimes!

I'll have a hunt and link.

Can I come too Wink?

idontlikealdi · 07/06/2021 08:22

Nike air Max

Livy178 · 07/06/2021 08:36

I’ve just bought Nike airforce shadow. They have a bit of a platform as I am quite short . They are so comfy.

Mumdiva99 · 07/06/2021 08:47

I always think you can't go wrong with Adidas Gazelle - classic, small shoe, come in lots of colours.

XiCi · 07/06/2021 10:37

If you want a bit of height I'd go flatform trainers. I have a converse pair and a pair of flatform adidas superstar but there's lots of choice out there

Branleuse · 07/06/2021 10:42

id take a pair of Dm boots and a pair of light sandals, such as the haviana flipflops that have backs on them so they dont fly off

Loserinlove · 07/06/2021 10:58

I can’t do boots, get sweaty feet plus I can’t pull off that cute dress and boot combo.

Thanks will look at those links. I don’t like canvas trainers but will look at flatform trainers!

Will definitely need to check weather... I don’t have a long sleeve top that isn’t a hoody that would look ok.... don’t want to take a jacket as don’t want to hold it if gets warm so needs to be something light I can tie round my waist....

Branleuse · 07/06/2021 11:03

there will usually be loads of stalls selling festival clothes if you need to buy another top or any clothes really

StevieKnickerbockerglory · 07/06/2021 11:09

I'd bring a packable Mac type thing if it's likely to rain. But also they will sell them there probably.

whatswithtodaytoday · 07/06/2021 11:14

Will you be in a field? If so, do not wear any form of heel. If it rains and gets muddy, you'll break your ankles.

I would wear trainers or something like saltwater sandals personally. Or wellies if it's wet!

Loserinlove · 07/06/2021 11:49

Yes it is a field and no I won’t wear heel heels just want more than a flat sandal type thing!flatform trainers sound like a shout.

I doubt very much there would be clothes stands there?! It isn’t Glastonbury type thing it is a small local dance festival with DJs? Do they really have clothes stands?! Can tell I haven’t been to a festival for YEARS! Can I still get away with those face crystals or will all the ‘youth’ look at me like I’m an idiot?? I’m early 30’s FYI but look younger Grin (not a stealth boast just setting the scene so I don’t make too much of a tit of myself)

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 07/06/2021 12:04

How about a pair of low wellies.

FrankiesKnuckle · 07/06/2021 12:28

Mostly at these things people are in some sort of trainer - superga/converse/Adidas/nike/vans/veja etc.

If it's hot and dry, you'll get filthy feet in sandals (and trampled toes) if it's wet and muddy well....

Trainers are the way to go. No one really looks at your feet!
Even the indoor alldayers/all-nighters most people wear trainers.

Which one are you going to? I've got clockstock soon, cant blooming wait!

Loserinlove · 07/06/2021 12:38

@FrankiesKnuckle thanks for the heads up, I need it! I’m thinking of getting a small across shoulder bag just big enough for cash, phone and keys?

Ok will definitely look at flatform trainers. At least I Can dance in them! I’m just going to Jamie Jones one.
