Plunge bra for massive boobs

Now the sun is out in wanting to wear dresses and sick of having bra on show in my low cut ones - can anyone recommend a decent lounge bra - non padded as they are big enough!

OP posts:
BlibBlabBlob · 02/06/2021 08:29

The Satine padding is subtle, it's there to make the bra supportive enough rather than to make your boobs look even bigger. :-)

Don't forget to do the Boob or Bust style of measuring to get the most accurate sizing. A lot of bra measuring in shops is awful (M&S, I'm looking at you - putting women in bras that are too big in the back because you don't sell bras in their actual size).

Hsjdb7483939 · 02/06/2021 08:32

I like the Freya deco one

rosie39forever · 02/06/2021 11:21

I definitely second getting measured by a professional (and no defiantly not M&S) for years marks were putting me in a 38E and it wasn't until I went to Rigby and Peller that I found a bra that actually fit properly I'm actually a 34gg.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 02/06/2021 14:45

I am the same size and have just for some nice ones from M&S. regardless of the negativity that M&S bras get on Mumsnet I find them good. Especially once you have the right fit.
Both were on offer for £17.50 I think.

@UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter no problem with M&S bras, just the sizing quirks and the awful fitting service.
(Although personally there's nothing I can buy there - I'm a 28H and M&S think that size doesn't exist and would try to put me in a 32G or similar. It would NOT fit.)

BlibBlabBlob · 03/06/2021 09:33

Also, although one of the bras you've suggested does SAY it comes in a 28H, it's really a 28GG because M&S, for some reason, have decided that (unlike all other UK manufacturers) FF isn't a real cup size and they just skip it.

Heading to bravissimo today! Will report back

How did you get on OP?

Bananaman123 · 03/06/2021 20:59

another vote for elomi, its all i buy now. Try uplifted lingerie website as they have sales sometimes

Wizzbangfizz · 03/06/2021 21:15

I am now an owner of a nude satine (was impressed by very thin padding) - up a cup size to a double H Angrybut that is my lockdown weight gain Sad

Going to look into other options on this thread as bras need an overhaul in general and thanks everyone for your replies/suggestions!

They do have a 28H now, but also their 30 back fits like a 28 in Freya etc.

BlibBlabBlob · 04/06/2021 09:25

@SirVixofVixHall but their 28H is really a 28GG as M&S skip the FF cup?

@Wizzbangfizz hurrah for getting a Satine, enjoy! If you're looking for further suggestions then Molke is worth investigating; very unconventional but incredibly comfortable and surprisingly good underneath more revealing clothes as it tends to look like you're wearing a vest underneath rather than showing bits of a traditional bra or bra straps. #Molkeflash is a thing. ;-)

SirVixofVixHall · 04/06/2021 09:38

No FF cup ? How annoying. The 30H is equivalent hopefully. I have around 26” ribs and I bought the 28H recently in their Carine Gibson range, and the band was tiny. Really tiny in that I could barely do it up and it felt horribly tight. The band would have fitted my teenage dd who has 24” ribs. It was too small in the cup too, now I know why ! I am waiting for the 30H to arrive.

Wizzbangfizz · 04/06/2021 10:52

I forgot to post I also got this bra - it gives very good uplift and shape, if a bit 50s pin up Blush but very comfortable and again light padding!

@SirVixofVixHall that's good to know, so often a 28 isn't a true 28 and if they're coming up small that's probably even better for those of us with small ribcages. I may indeed fit into a 30H or thereabouts at M&S then, although I suspect I wouldn't have had a chance a few months ago - I was in a 28J but have lost a bit of weight and therefore a bit of boob.

That said I'm so wedded to my Molke bras now that I only ever wear a non-Molke one for sports!

BlibBlabBlob · 04/06/2021 13:45

@Wizzbangfizz I seem to remember trying the Niya and it didn't work on me, but it looks lovely and I'm glad you are happy with it!

Nat6999 · 04/06/2021 14:07

Freya deco, best plunge bra there is.

Can I ask what the sizing was like on this bra- did you get the same size as you did in the Satine?
Wizzbangfizz · 04/06/2021 16:49

@Appuskidu the lady said that most people do need a size up but I got the same size as a satine!

SansaClegane · 04/06/2021 17:31

Bit late to this OP, but you could also try the Bravissimo Amber plunge. I've got 2 (so far); really lovely shape and great under clothes!

Cleverpolly3 · 04/06/2021 17:44

Depending on the shape of your breasts a balconette bra might actually work better

Are you breasts teardrop shaped with a visible gap between the two of them?
Or
Are they side heavy with little to no gap in between

Balconette bras give lift and there is less cup on show and give a nice uplift to your cleavage
I have side and bottom heavy 34 GG and have yet to find a lounge bra that supports the sides and bottom without being too loose on the top or leaving a gap. Whereas I have several really well fitting and reasonably priced balcony bras

Cleverpolly3 · 04/06/2021 17:45

Plunge bra not lounge bra. I generally cannot wait to take any bra I am wearing off by the time lounging arrives Grin
