I think what we can take from this is that they must react differently on different people, which makes the whole thing a case of trial and error.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 27/05/2021 22:27

The St Tropez one you use in the shower. Very gradual and no smell.

HoneyDragon · 27/05/2021 22:32

@noloh1

I always moisturise the inside of my wrists and in between my fingers and thumb and palm before I tan like I do my knees, elbows and feet. Then I just glide the mitt over each hand. And run it to my wrist on the inside.Has never failed me yet.

HalfBrick · 27/05/2021 22:32

Not gradual tan but I bought the Primark £3 tan oil, works on my face and smells sweet, not digestivey!!

Thirtyysomething · 27/05/2021 22:43

I am a fake tan hater, can’t stand the smell or look and the only one I have ever loved is the vita liberata gradual tanner. I do put it on at night and shower in the morning, although you could do early eve application and evening shower but the smell is really not that offensive and the colour is amazing... just looked bronzed/glowy, no streaks or orange.

CheerfulBunny · 27/05/2021 22:46

Ooooh @Fluffycloudland77 that's interesting. I've become allergic to DHA so will give that Superdrug one a go. Ordinary self tan brings me out in a horrible rash. I have to use wash-off on my pasty legs these days.

CarpeVitam · 27/05/2021 22:47

Clarins Drops

You're welcome 😊

Bloodyfuckit · 27/05/2021 22:49

Bondi sands liquid gold is the best smelling one I've found.

Nannyamc · 27/05/2021 22:54

I use the tan organic. Has no smell but builds up. Hydrating as well

justchecking1 · 28/05/2021 09:42

Skinny tan have various smells. There's a coconut one and I think a strawberry one. Coconut is fine, haven't smelled the strawberry. Even their normal one is pretty reasonable smell-wise

HeraInTheHereAndNow · 28/05/2021 11:35

@MoltonSilver... yep. I think you’re right.

When I look at the reviews, some say they smell gorgeous and others that it’s “the worst!” about the same product 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I also think how it’s been stored and how long it’s been on display/on the shelf as it were, can affect the odour.

Isle of paradise !

BossBhean · 28/05/2021 21:06

Neutrogena Build A Tan. Doesn't really have a strong smell and builds up gradually. Only problem is it seems to only be available in the US unless you want to pay silly prices to get it sent over. I get family, who live there, to bring me some when they visit or someone goes to visit them. I'll probably be pale skinned this Summer Hmm

MorningTeas · 28/05/2021 21:14

Coco & Eve

FindingMeno · 28/05/2021 22:13

Palmers.
Doesn't smell amazing, but doesn't smell bad.

MoltonSilver · 29/05/2021 09:27

Those of you who use the Clarins drops, how does that work. Do you mix it into body lotion in your hand before applying? If so, is there an issue with not having the same mix each time and different parts of your body coming out different shades?

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 29/05/2021 09:46

St tropez

Rainallnight · 29/05/2021 10:35

@MoltonSilver yes, you mix it in your hand with your usual body moisturiser. I just use the same number of drops for each dollop of moisturiser, and that seems to work out fine in terms of how even the colour is.

FreshFaceTime · 29/05/2021 18:41

Feel unique have a summer promotion at the moment where you get a load of tanning products if you spend £70... so if you have another £70 to throw down the drain you could try out a few different ones...

Rina66 · 29/05/2021 19:08

I really like Tan Luxe The Gradual, really great colour and very little whiff. As an aside, I think their sleep oil face tan is amazing too, which is how I came to buy the gradual tan. I'd really like to try their instant tan as I'm so impressed with the other two products.
