Long tops/shirts to wear with leggings

I'm losing weight post baby - my jeans are too tight so I'm living in leggings. I'm petite and keep ordering oversized shirts that swamp me. I want my bum to be covered though! Please help.

Anyone?!

When it's warmer swop the leggings for tights. You can mix up the shoes and the outfit takes on a different look- trainers for more casual, flat ballet pumps for school pick up, small heels for lunch time coffee, chunky boots for a walk.

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately that would look awful on me since I'm petite and busty.

I don’t know how practical this is for you but I find oversized silk shirts are more forgiving. They hang better around curves, I also wear a contrasting longer length silk cami underneath in a non clinging size.
Whistles also do tunic dresses that are great for larger chests/tums and don’t look like ‘smocks’.
Also can wear the longer silk cami with a loose kimono over or suchlike when it’s warm.

@Fallsballs sounds so lovely but I have a six month old who is very sicky.

Primark have some £5 ish long tshirts in. So do h&m. They are quite a boxy shape I find but they are long and work with leggings to cover your bum!

Is this any good?

Sorry saw you want shirts not tshirts. I have the same problem the arm proportions are always too big! In a nice way perhaps they are not the look you want if they just dont work for your proportions x

Hush long line tank tops are great over leggings and will cover your bum - then add a nice top of your choice. They are great for layering and last forever... I'm 5"2 and they are mid thigh on me.

@goose1964 where is that from? Perhaps a different print

@bookish83 no it doesn't have to be a shirt it was just an example

@Boriswentcamping that does look good, are they clingy though?

Fitted but not super clingy. Just great for layering if you have a top that feels a bit too short for leggings. I also have a few black stretchy cotton vest style dresses which I would never wear on there own as too clingy, but again over leggings and with a nice top, they feel really comfortable and just add another layer. Tunic style dresses also really nice.

goose1964 · 24/05/2021 11:27

I think it was kaleidoscope

EversoDelighted · 24/05/2021 11:47

I have some long vest tops from Primark which I use as an under layer, they are below the bum length, then a normal top over that.
