I thought I’d share this. In my recommended feed on YouTube there was a video about flaxseed gel to use either as a gel, leave in conditioner or mask. It’s supposed to be really good for curly hair but also improve the condition, strength and growth of all hair types. My hair is very thin, flyaway and over the last year it has thinned even more on stopping HRT.

I made the gel as per video - 1/4 cup flaxseeds to 2 cups water. Bring to boil and stir on medium heat till it thickens to an egg white texture. Sieve it and leave to cool.

I applied it with my hands (vile snot-like texture), massaged it into scalp and covered my hair with a shower cap. As I was in I left it for a couple of hours then washed and conditioned and styled as usual. My hair is smoother, looks glossier and there were no flyaways at all when I’d dried it. My first impressions are good. I wash my hair two or three times a week and I’m going to use it before each wash if I have time. Probably won’t leave it for hours each time though. I bought a 1kg bag of flaxseeds off Amazon for £7 and it’s going to last for ages as I’ll get two treatments out of 1/4 cup full. My hair is thin and collarbone length .

Oooh I've been meaning to try this - curly girl here too - you've convinced me.

For just the one treatment I’m really impressed with the result I must say. I forgot to say that my hair is thin and straight. The gel is supposed to be extra good for curly hair but also improves other hair types. I cleansed my face and also used it as a face mask and my skin also liked it. I left it to harden the washed it off with a flannel . My skin felt soft and smooth and comfortable. I just used my usual moisturiser after. All hail the mighty flaxseed ! I hope you like it JMAngel1

Hope you like it too UhtredRagnarson. Mine looks better than it has for ages even though I've been using olaplex 0&3 over the last year. That has only made a marginal difference to strength and texture
