Skirts, tights, and leggings ... oh my!

Ok, I'm just trying out dressing like a girl.

I've bought some cotton skirts, flarey ones (summery, really, but some are in darker colours).

But if I put them with cotton tights, they clump and go stupid - do I have to wear v smooth tights with them (or fishnets) to avoid them going funny?

This seems like the sort of thing I ought to have worked out before now, somehow.

you need a slip.

NotQuiteCockney · 15/11/2007 08:17

mom?

how on earth are you on here?

Seriously, yeah, I guess that makes sense, I'm just always too too hot. But if these skirts are lined, they're lined in cotton, which of course doesn't help.

Aren't slips always gross and synthetic?

fishie is of course right but you just wouldn't do that.

NotQuiteCockney · 15/11/2007 08:18

Do they even make slips now?

I honestly hadn't thought of a slip.

cooling

modest

NotQuiteCockney · 15/11/2007 08:19

I am more inclined to just wear fishnets, nothing sticks to fishnets.

Bloody cold on the way places, though, in this weather.

Well that is why it would work, isn't it? But I imagine you could get v. lightweight cotton slips.

NotQuiteCockney · 15/11/2007 08:20

My skirts are generally shorter than that, and more flarey - I might have a hard time bicycling in a slip? (I know, I know, I have weird requirements ...)

expensive but probably worth it

NotQuiteCockney · 15/11/2007 08:21

But cotton slips would stick to the cotton tights.

Do cotton skirts stick to synthetic tights? I expect they stick to woolen ones (which are no use if overheating is an issue, anyway)

Yes, silk might be the fix ... it never sticks ...

the full body ones are always shorter than the half slips. m&s sometimes have them in microfibre stuff, i have one as a nighty.

Duh, I already own a silk one, although it's turquoise, it could work for trials ...
