The word that comes to mind is gormless!

murbblurb · 07/05/2021 20:23

Turn off all comms from MN - why wouldn't you?

I have a pricier sleeveless version and it looks fab on. I am taller than average.

harknesswitch · 07/05/2021 21:50

Probably look great if your 6' and a size 10 (actually even then I think it would look shit)

I lived in a dress similar to this last summer, I am in a hot country and it was very unrestrictive. Then I saw a photo of myself.... oh dear! At least we were in lockdown.

Nearly all Amazon cheapies are modelled by young women in towering heels.

I don't know anyone under 30/35 who would go anywhere in sky high strappy heels any more!

Thisnamewasnttaken123 · 07/05/2021 22:32

Yuck 😂

Thisnamewasnttaken123 · 07/05/2021 22:34

Even the model looks like she's thinking 'ok can you get it off me now please...'

TangledUp789 · 07/05/2021 23:06

It reminds me of those horrible harem style strappy jumpsuits from eBay that were all the rage on here a few years ago. There was a big appreciation thread for them and I used to read it for a laugh, because they were so ugly Grin

(Sorry to anyone who still wears theirs)

I like everything about the original dress except the off-the-shoulder thing. The two grey ones, not so much. There can't be many people who suit a drop waist like that and especially the saggy bit in just the right place to look like a droopy beer belly. But cocoon/tulip dresses are very forgiving - I haven't got much waist and I think I actually look more shapely in them, not less.

NeedWineNow · 13/05/2021 18:38

I'm another one who likes the cocoon/tulip shape and have several. I find them comfortable and easy to throw on, particularly whilst working from home.

However, I don't like the bardot neckline on the original photo. It seems a bit like overkill. I wouldn't describe it as vile though - that seems a bit extreme to me.

Yes, it's horrible- very dated- looks like what All Saints were selling 10 years ago!
